Workout

I broke up with NYSC today.

You know how it is. Things grow stale. You're not really working out as much as you used to. You don't like the way things are looking so much; they've kind of let themselves go. You think, "Maybe it's me. Maybe I can just work through this - I just need the basics, right? I just need to sweat. Maybe I just need to try something new." So you try a new activity together. You sit in the sauna. You madly scope out the class list, wondering why absolutely nothing sounds appealing to you anymore. Finally, you have to acknowledge that it's gone. The thrill is gone. You're just going through the motions. You really don't even want to be there anymore.

I decided maybe I should flirt a bit with another club to see if maybe that would jumpstart my desire again. I visited Crunch 3 times as part of the current SoWo challenge. Unfortunately, like trying to date someone in Brooklyn when you live way uptown, unless the clickage is undeniable it's all about location, location, location. (I know, Mr. Bunnyman. We got a little physical and you were nice enough, but you're just too inconvenient for me right now and I just never felt real comfortable at your crib. I know, I know; we said No Judgments. I'm sorry, I just wasn't feeling the vibe.)

My decision to leave NYSC was solidified when I visited Equinox yesterday. I had a torrid affair with Equinox during the month-long intenSati Rise and Shine Challenge this summer. Equinox greeted me with open arms and not even the slightest bitterness over my disappearance after the Challenge wrapped. I marveled at the quality of the equipment, reveled in Natalia Petrzela's intenSati class, delighted in the Keihl's products and the big fluffy towels. I saw how things could be. And yes, it's going to be a little more expensive, but it's about quality of life and I think I'm worth it.

NYSC took the bad news on the chin like a champ, telling me with audible sadness that cancellation required 30 days notice and so I could go back and visit as much as I wanted until 10/24. I have to admit I will probably go back several times before it's finally over for old time's sake. It's convenient. Hell, it's paid for. I'll probably wait for the first of November before officially hooking up with Equinox, just for appearances sake. I'm tellin' ya now, though: it's gonna be a thing of beauty.

i went to the Women's Health Are You Game? and I was really impressed with the Crunch instructors. One thing that Crunch has that most gyms lack is,  and what i most appreciate is that they offer the most innovative fitness classes. That surfboarding class was so cool!!

I'm baaaaack! Miss me??  And ironically, the last time I logged on was exactly one year ago!  I def feel you on going thru the motions at the gym.  The only thing that keeps me going are the hot guys that sweat there.  Otherwise, it's pretty much a no go.
