Yoga, not Pilates!

Power Hour Yoga. I sort of hate those fast flowing classes. I just don't like rushing through sun salutations! I took this class for the first time last week and I liked it but I didn't like it. Still how I felt today. However, I think the parts I didn't like were the hard parts. Or the parts that felt like it was a workout class and not a Yoga practice...if that makes sense. Despite all that it was good that I took the class today.

Practiced disarms in Kali and timing in Muay Thai. Then did another hour of Yoga!

What a great way of thinking of different forms of yoga.  I don't even know most forms of yoga, but I started with Vinyasa or flow yoga and I do look at it as a workout and not a practice.  Then I started taking a class once a week (when I am in town) of Iyengar yoga.  They look like the same animal but they are not.  The poses are the same but in my Iyengar practice everything is held longer and we build up to poses more.  It is also much more spiritual.  I have a Kundalini yoga dvd and the poses there are totally different and involve much movement.   They also don't use a sticky mat.  I am not even sure how to think of that form of yoga.
