Workout
Soreness and Eating Raw
Time of Day:
Evening
Workout:
* 23 minutes on treadmill (details below); 2.0 miles
* 23 minutes on elliptical; interval setting, incline of 5
Thoughts:
I'm *still* sore from yesterday afternoons boot camp class, but listened to some advice that my body would feel better if I worked out today - so to the gym I went. Somehow I managed a little bit of treadmill time for an interval run. I don't even know how my legs managed to run considering that it hurt to stand up and sit down today. I might not be made for boot camp, but I think I might go back next week. I can tell that it was a workout that has the potential to accomplish things.
Also, I feel like I haven't been being very mindful of what I've been eating lately. That, and I've just been craving unhealthy things. To try to fix this and exercise some self control, I decided to eat raw for the day. The last time I did this was during one of the SW challenges and I thought I would never do it again considering how not good I felt afterwards. Today wasn't too bad though - I had cut fruit in the morning (strawberries, peach, plum, white nectarine), then some almonds and a few bites of a cucumber, tomato, lemon, onion salad, 2 bananas, and for dinner I had a big spoon of peanut butter, and a green mango, onion, cucumber, peanut salad with lime, salt, and sriracha (not raw). I cheated a little bit and had a cup of green ginger tea with some honey as well. Although I was raw, I don't know that it was completely healthy - probably too much fruit and not enough vegetables, and not enough protein. I don't think I can handle another day of being raw tomorrow, but I definitely feel like I'm on track to be more mindful.
5 minute warm up @ 3.1 - 3.5
18 minutes of walking/running intervals between 4.0 and 7.5 and a change every 1 minute

I'm glad you'll give the bootcamp another chance. It's easy to get stuck in our comfort zone (I am in a comfort zone now!). I also like the sounds of your raw foods! I didn't do that last year but I kind of wanted to. Maybe I'll plan a raw food day too-- best to do it now while fruits and veggies are in season!
