Workout
out there, finally.
Ok, I did it. I knew I couldn't let another day pass without getting some serious endorphines going...so, I threw on my Vibrams, strapped on my Garmin and headed out the door, accepting the fact that I wouldn't know where I was heading. I basically followed the lights while trying to find a route that didn't make me stop too often and where I could essentially go straight for long distances. I really didn't feel like getting lost! I actually inadvertantly made my way to and past Checkpoint Charlie, which is kinda awesome considering all the history of that place. I ended up running 4.63 miles in 45 minutes. Then I did some abs, lunges and squats in the "gym" that's part of my building. It was quite honestly the most bizarre thing I've ever seen...it has like 5 pieces of equipment and a tanning bed. The equipment is sooooo specific to certain muscle groups, that you really can't get much done with it. Clearly, I need to get this thing with McFit started ASAP!
Oh, I was also able to do some research today and figured out a pretty nice sight-seeing run for my long run this weekend. It's 18 1/2 kilometers (11 1/2 miles) and I'll have to do it about twice to hit my long run goal of 20 miles. The run hits a lot of cool sights, like the Schloss Charlottenburg and the Tiergarten district, and it goes along a lot of water too. If the weather plays along it'll be a really awesome run :-)
