Everyone loves a cheerleader
I had a kind of grumpy day yesterday. It started with me returning a zipcar and having a guy in a car (that I sort of cut off, but it was a confusing situation) FOLLOW me into a parking lot just so he could flip me off. Kind of scary actually. Work was fine but my supervisor forgot about my review, which I had kind of psyched myself up for...will be rescheduled. Mostly I was feeling inadequate about my housekeeping skills and education (friends told me that my gentleman caller should stay at a hotel, not my place, and other friends were gloating about the college rankings...EVEN THOUGH WE GRADUATED OVER 10 YEARS AGO!). It all made me second guess where I should be at this point in my life. I kind of wanted to bail on the gym but knew that I would feel better-- at least during-- if I went. Tavia is out for a few weeks to get married (v. happy for her!) so we had a very peppy sub. At first I was wary. She was very cheerleader like and instead of zumba, she led a cardio dance class. Even though sweatin' to the oldies seemed lame at first, soon we were all laughing and really having a good time. It reminded me of dancing in the kitchen with my mom and sister. The same sub led the step class and it was high energy as well. After that I stretched and cooled down a bit, then joined in body jam. I love that we work through the same routine for like 6 weeks, because now I finally know it pretty well and like to pretend I'm in Step Up.
