Workout
baby hoop and baby steps

- this is just like me but my apartment is messier
Upon my return from my fairy godmother travels, I got two big rejections, one from grad school, and the other from a big arts festival. I was especially bummed because I'd spent the last few weeks envisioning myself telling people in bars, "Oh yes, I"m getting my MFA in playwriting and in my spare time I hula hoop and train for aerial silks. Please come see my two blockbuster shows this fall. Oh right, my fifth pinup calendar is coming out in December." How cool was I going to be? So cool! I would totally sleep with me buy me drinks.
Instead, I spent the end of last week reviewing budgets for my new theater company, meeting my new godson, causing trouble with Khaliah, sending off msh258, reuniting with Sass, getting over jetlag and that made me sleep 13 hours and moping. Yes, von Hottie mopes. Very privately, I mope.
Anyway, I figure if I can't answer the big questions in my life, I'll start with the little questions and hope they lead to big answers. The first little question is: shouldn't I be hooping with a smaller hoop because the bigger one is too easy now? My new rule is that I have to make my travel hoop five sections instead of six. I hula hooped like that for an hour today. It's so hard doing it with a smaller hoop that I have to pause every two minutes and stretch my abs. Tomorrow's question is: shouldn't I von up and get back on the aerial track? The answer is yes. Stay tuned, I have some stuff to share.

vonhottie! I got this email from lifebooker (aerial dance class!!) and thought I'd pass it along....I know nothing about these people/this class, but, given your goal, I thought you may be interested...

Sorry to hear about the rejections :( But, when one door closes, another one opens! Think of this as a way to spend more time on other priorities?

i agree with msh! in fact, a phD in awesome. i can come hold you while you mope if that will help. <3 your abs are going to be rock solid using only 5 sections.

I'd buy you a drink. Here's what my mom would say re the rejections (I've had my share):
It's their loss.
And it is. Rock on with yo' bad self.

I owe the life I have today and all the wonderful things in it to getting rejected by 3 grad schools the first time I applied. A year later when I tried again - I was in a totally different place and it all worked out so much better! Be strong - focus on the AWESOME that is you (see the above comments!)
