Workout

when health pulls the brakes

I was all set to beat the crap out of myself at the gym last night in an effort to increase my participation rate for MMM.  That was the plan...until I took a deep breath to check in with myself, and I had to admit that my ribs were whimpering.  It may be that I did, in fact, pull something a couple of days ago in intenSati and aggravated it in yoga.  It may also be a spike in my fibromyalgia triggered by my Celiac.  Whatever it is, after a minute of quiet reflection, I realized that I needed to reel it in a bit and that pushing my body at that moment would not be in my best interest.  I was determined to get some activity in, though, so I walked for 30 minutes from the office to Columbus Circle.  Then I hopped on the train, made myself a nice supper, popped a couple Motrin and a muscle relaxer (all doctor approved, I promise) and was in bed by 10:30.  I wouldn't say I feel 100% this morning, but I do feel better and think the rest did my body a world of good.

And I agree with you, when i saw how many hrs you were working out..... you definitely have to take it easy!! take it from me... rest and heal, you do not want to make it worse... and then you can work out like mad, there will be other challenges...  I took it easy this week, my foot was still bugging me... going to a concert tonite, hopefully, i will  be able to get a seat...
