Absurdity scale 1-10: biking in a dark room on let's-pretend hills while in the middle of beautiful, hilly city on a perfect evening: 10.
Yesterday I biked on my heavy hybrid to spin class too! But it was an accident. I somehow managed to arrive exactly one hour late to my normal conditioning class w/ my man Carl which put me in a room w/ people hauling out spin bikes. I went for it but left after 45 of the 60 minutes because I couldn't stand being on a bike inside going nowhere when it was so beautiful outside. *And* yesterday was the first day for my new bike light batteries, which I fiiiinally installed. It makes such a difference!

Ha! I relish such absurdities. For me, i feel like a spin class is a totally different kind of exercise than real cycling in my neighborhood. Sometimes I just need to soak in the fakeness and the blaring music and the yelling. And sometimes I enjoy things like, oh, fresh air.
What would be super awesome is a spin class...OUTSIDE.
