Workout
PLYO = PAIN. SWEET, SWEET PAIN.
I procrastinated my cardio workout this morning --- all that plyo just kills me. Amazingly, I did it better than usual ... motivating myself by thinking about the custard I had last night and the off-plan pancakes I made for my husband this morning. Never mind, I'll have a big salad for lunch.
And the 200 crunches! They hurt so good. Yes, it can be painful and annoying, but once I'm done, I'm ever so glad I did it. Now I shall reward myself with a hot shower featuring the REALLY scrumptious shower gel and scrub I only get to use after workouts, and by wearing a hot outfit to rehearsal.

What do you do for your plyo workout? This is definitely something I need to work on. I tried box jumps yesterday and they were much harder than I expected. I try to work some jumping type stuff in with burpees and broad jumps, but I know it's not exactly the same as plyo. And in any case, it's HARD!
All of which is to say, you are, as usual, my hero.
And I love that you have a special shower gel for post-workouts. Brilliant. I'm totally copying.

Plyo is so hard! And the soreness it inspires is not like other soreness. It's just not. But doesn't it make you feel like a total badass? There is no substitute for POWER!

Prairieportia, I've been doing the Power 90 workouts (Tony Horton, same guy who does P90X). The cardio involves a long section of jumping jacks, running in place, "runner's lunges" which consists of switching your feet back and forth behind you like you're on skis while moving your arms, "cross-hops" (another ski-type jump), and various other sorts of running-jumping combinations. Basically, you bounce up and down like a bunny rabbit on speed. You do the whole series three times in a row without stopping.
However, when I can get through the whole workout without stopping, I TOTALLY feel like a rock star! A badass rock star, Sadie! ;)
