von Hottie and the orginal sin

oh haaay is this the tree that grows rosaaay?

I had a hot & heavy reunion with the elliptical yesterday. I even made a guest appearance on the Row-Ho and the Portal to Another World. Ride the Zone has changed the way I listen to music while I workout. All I hear is cadences for climbs and sprints and flats and downhills. I started to wonder if I could turn the espresso bike into von Hottie's personal RTZ.

After, I put on a big black tutu dress ("tutu onesie" my friend called it) and met up with friends, who treated me to a delicious belated birthday dinner and way too much rosé.  Sass muffin got me hooked on Livestrong.com and now I know just how much damage I did with each glass of rosé. Oy vey von Hottness! Well, knowledge is power, but I think I preferred my world when it had more pink wine than pink science. It's like I'm Eve and I ate the apple from the tree of knowledge and then the snake called Lance Armstrong told me how many calories were in the apple, and now I'm dressed in a tutu made of fig leaves. I wish I could follow the yellow brick road back to the Garden of Eden where all I counted in my champagne was the bubbles.

I'm so proud of you for rocking your own play lists!!! I tried to make the espress my own RTZ and it was so not as fun and then I got mad that it wasn't fun. Educated Eating(and drinking)- you go girl. You're my favorite writer after my Nana Myra. It's okay...Step one is to recognise what your habits are ....it's fascinating and frightening all at once. Just taking note of how you eat and drink is helpful- then at your own pace- you can incorporate and prioritize. Also...alcohol is expensive.- I recommend keeping a running tab for how much money you are saving when you decide to pass on an extra glass. Then at the end of the month- treat yourself to something fit and beautiful as a prize. It is also important to realize that when you are drinking- you are usally doing it in the eve, when it is the hardest to metabolize....more reasons to love bloody mary's at brunch : ) Remember one glass of rose is the same price as a mani at Queens. I'm still a big advocate of the drink "punch card" - you get seven drinks a week, spread them how you'd like to.

Von Hottie has been inquiring about nutrition when we have coffee after we ride the zone. She's a quick learner; she's scored an A+ on what makes up glucose. She'll be on top of this game in a NY minute. No doubt.

counting calories is boring. you know what's even more boring? talking about counting calories. shoot me in the face.

I do like pretty graphs, though.

You know what else I learned? Veuve Clicquot has fewer calories than Pinot Grigrio but Veuve has more carbs. My nutrition lesson from Kaitlyn leads me to believe that the fructose level in Veuve is probably higher.

Thank you kindly for the support as I blindly skip behind Lance Armstrong down another fork in the yellow brick fit & beautiful road.
