Outside = infinitely harder than treadmill
I'm doing C25k, and for the last three weeks, I have been rocking it. Running extra time during the cooldown, bragging to my friends, feeling awesome. All on the treadmill. I tried outside today for Week 3 day 3, and couldn't even get through the first 3 minute run. Cold, rainy, my throat hurt, I couldn't find my stride, eventually walked home instead of throwing up in the middle school playground next to my apartment. Who knew they were so different?? I may have to start C25k over and just go outside (since my treadmill access is over next week). How very disappointing.

Don't get discouraged! Everyone has a bad day. Yes, running outside is different than a treadmill but you will get the hang of it, you can do it!!

Don't be discouraged! With running, you have good days, you have bad days, and sometimes there's no clear reason why. It's good to mix it up a little bit --- if you do the treadmill one day, do outside the next. And with C25K, or any training program, don't feel you have to stick religiously to the schedule. You can always repeat sessions or weeks as necessary, until you feel good enough about them to move on.
Just keep on keeping on! I started out walking, did C25K, and now I'm about to run my second 10K. It works! :)

You don't need to start over...just keep moving forward!
My first time outside was horrible, I felt like a fraud, like every step I had taken on the treadmill didn't count. After regularly running 3.5 miles on the treadmill, I couldn't make it 3.5 BLOCKS.
In retrospect, I was nervous. I had built up this transition in my head and I freaked myself out.
You'll be fine!
Think about how far you have come! And think about the millions and millions of people STILL sitting on their couch who don't have the balls or the commitment to do what you've already done.
