What I will miss about spinning with Kenny Moody.

As Evangeline posted, Kenny announced his retirement today. Five weeks left.
I will really miss him and I hope he will pass on a few of his tricks to some of the other teachers:
I love "My hands, your feet." If I can't see the legs of the front row rock stars, this totally helps me keep time.
I love his attention to the rhythm. It helps to innately know what is coming up. And the momentum keeps me going.
I love that he counts down to the jumps or the tucks, and then once you're there, he keeps you posted on how much longer.
I love the variety of his music. A little pop, a little rock, a little Latin. All house all the time is not for me.
I love "WAIT!! WAIT!!" as I am dying during a stabilization exercise, which by the way, are awesome and no one really does them like Kenny.
I think we all gave it a little extra push today in his honor. I did!
I will mourn Strength & Alignment in another post....sigh.

Holy shit! I was going to go today and then didn't and now I'm sooooo sorry I missed it. Ken M. is my favorite. I don' think you can find a more joy-infused class than his, which is what I love about him, his bad ass joy.

I was going to go to class but stayed at work instead! Bad decision.
YES on the next two Thursdays! We should coordinate to figure out who each other is! I'll try to make it Friday too, though that time is tough.

This is so sad. Ken's spin classes are great. Why is he retiring? He doesn't look like he's 65. Another great teacher leaving Crunch. It's turning from being great into a McGym. I was talking to a personal trainer who had moved to Crunch from New York Sport Club, who said that the clubs were exactly the same. Sad.
