Workout
On being the sweatiest girl at the gym. EVER.
I stick out like a sore thumb at my gym, David Barton Chicago. I don't wear the craziest tech-y fitness gear (and I thought I was fancy for wearing Lululemon. HA!). I don't wear a face full of makeup while I workout (or ever). And I'm always THE sweatiest person in a class. Always!
For the first time since I started working out and caring about my health, probably eight years ago, I began to feel self-conscious at the gym.
That lasted for like a week, then I snapped out of it and decided to say fuck it and do what I do best- push myself in group exercise classes! Now that I'm more comfortable at DB, I own that bitch (or at least I do in my mind). I go in, do my business, stare at the cute personal trainer's butt and enjoy the steam and sauna.
Tonight before JUNK, one of my favorite classes, 45 minutes of lower body toning intervals, one of the rich, super made up, working out in a face full of makeup girls came up to me and said "You know, I stare at you in class because I have no idea what I'm doing. You always look like you're doing it right and you're totally ripped."
Yup, I totally own that bitch.

I am not only the sweatiest, but also my face turns beet red all over.
Sometimes I sweat so much that the people next to me get uncomfortable. I think of it as an easy way to create extra personal space.

Good for you, you totally own it! I always look like a drowned rat when I walk out of spin class. Glad I'm not the only one!

I hear you, sweat sister! I polkadot the treadmill with my sweat droplets. I have to use a skidless towel over my yoga mat. Sometimes I wear skidless toe socks in addition to the towel to make the sweat less obvious. Please help me introduce the post-workout wi-five to the world!
