Apparently, my injured feet and tendons were not up for an hour of plyometrics

- At least my pedi looks nice. :)
Somehow I woke up on my own before 8 am this morning. Not like me at all, especially for a Saturday. I took advantage of it and made some whole wheat flax blueberry pancakes. Yum! There may have been turkey bacon involved. I also resolved to go to one of the classes I usually sleep through at Equinox Tribeca and realized there was a quick ab class beforehand. *Loved* the ab class. I felt burn - we'll see how things are feeling in the morning.
I was lukewarm on Power Sculpt. I'm not one to give a lukewarm review without discussion, so here goes.
1. Class description. The class description is as follows online: "An intense conditioning class utilizing various equipment such as weights, body bars and tubing to sculpt and strengthen your body." I have to be in a bathing suit in Cabo in three weeks, so all of this sound good. I'm scared of classes, so I read class descriptions pretty closely and have been avoiding anything with plyometrics so I don't re-injure myself before my trip. When the steps came out in class, I admittedly should have just walked out. There was a lot of jumping involved. I decided to play it smart and invent my own modifications to avoid doing damage.
2. Bouncing. One thing I like about Core Fusion is the purposeful movement. When I realized the "tempo" reps in Power Sculpt were basically bouncing lunges and other moves to keep up with music at the expense of form, I was kind of over it. To Michael's credit, he did tell people to slow down to complete the move, but most people continued to bounce.
3. A class filled with people with good class etiquette. I'll admit being scared of classes (for those of you who can remember my issues with smelly foot lady at Core Fusion), and admittedly, Social Workout has upped my phobia after reading posts describing lots of outrageous behavior. I was pleasantly relieved to have courteous classmates today.
4. Energy. Michael had really good energy and kept things moving along. I never felt tortured. I'd definitely go back another week to see how class varies week to week.
