Thoughts:
I love, love, LOVE running to Linkin Park, especially on rainy and cloudy mornings like this one.  All of their music has so much energy, a lot of angry energy sometimes, but it’s real.  There’s a song for almost every strong emotion I’ve felt at one time or another, and I can really relate to so much of their music.  There are lines from certain songs that just speak to me and stand out.  Linkin Park is definitely not the type of music people associate with me (when I tell people, they think it’s really strange).  If you really listen to their words though, it’s pretty beautiful, powerful, and amazing work.  After seeing them live a few years ago, I developed the biggest crush ever on Chester Bennington – the earrings the tattoos (not my type AT ALL in real life) but OMG.

ANYWAYS…

I was able to meet the goal I set for myself today of running 2.25 miles without stopping, and by the end of the week I should be at a full 3 miles if I stick to schedule.  That means I’ll have a full two weeks to get used to running 3 miles at a time, and maybe even increase speed a little!

Great job on running so far without stopping!  I predict you will totally rock your upcoming race.  New goals are so good.

Thanks!  Running at one speed is kinda boring though :-p

It sounds like you're doing really great! Your race day adrenalin will totally carry you through the finish!

I would definitely recommend running outside a few times before the race, as it's a really different feeling from the treadmill.  You don't want to run too fast at the beginning (and you might, the wind on your face sure does feel good!) and then be burned out for the last push.
