Workout
4-0 For the Week in Racquetball

- This picture will make (some) sense if you read the whole post.
I played another hour of racquetball last night after work. It was so much fun. My left hip finally stopped bothering me (I'm thinking it started in the first place because I'm a lefty so most of my swinging on Tuesday was on that side) so I decided to do another Challenge Court at the Y.
This time, I got matched up against what couldn't have been more than a 12 or 13 year old kid. I was probably close to 20 years older than him which at first made me think that it wouldn't be much of a game.
I was wrong.
Kid was good...really good. He had an awesome serve that bounced off two walls before coming in low right at you which makes taking a good swing at the ball difficult. However, he didn't seem to know how to stay cool under pressure and tended to lose his focus at the end of both games we played. I think he'll be kind of scary to play in 6 months or so though.
I ended up winning 15-10 and 15-11 I believe which takes my racquetball record since coming out of retirement (Take that Brett Favre!) up to 4-0.
I'm really enjoying incorporating this sport back into my life. It's sooooo much fun and such a great workout! :o)
In other good news softball season starts in less than two weeks! I should really hit the batting cages...
Also, I ended up signing up for that 5K I mentioned in my last post. I know that barring the dumbest injury ever I'll be able to complete it, but I'd like to be able to do it running and not walking and if possible in under 30 minutes. I've got right around 5 weeks to train for this. Does anybody have any good 5K training suggestions for someone who's not out of shape, but isn't really a runner?
