Intense Yoga

Though I didn't get to run outside yesterday like I imagined (I forgot my sneakers at work...), I was able to take a 90 minute "extreme" yoga class at Lafayette yesterday afternoon. One o my new year's resolutions was to learn how to do the "hard" yoga stuff. I would like to actually study yoga from the beginning (I should take some of the "virgin" yoga classes crunch offers) but for now I'll just fit in what I can. So the class was hallwnging and I really sweat. It made me a little sad because I could tell my body got a little less flexible because I haven't been doing yoga regularly. Chataranga push ups are hard! It looks like everyone else does them with ease but you have to be really strong to do them the right way. I I'd one second if true crow pose but I couldn't get the side crow. Also, I did a head stand against the wall, which I was happy about because even though I didn't stand on my own, I have more of an idea what the while thing entails. I'm looking forward to my week of the one after next because then I can fit in more yoga...and time to work on my nonexistent pull up :(

Great goals! I think the "hard poses" start to come surprisingly fast if you go to yoga consistently, like for a few weeks. And it's very satisfying. Headstand away from the wall: You're so there!

Thanks, Oliver. I'm off next week so I'm gonna do my own sort of makeshift yoga "retreat" in the city.... gonna use a week Bikram pass and go to extra yoga classes at the gym because I'll have time. Thanks for the support ;)
