Why I have bruises on my knees, and why it affected tonight's circuit....

Tu.  Kept hitting the snooze for a full hour.  I wish the time change would happen already!  I'm tired of the late daybreak.

Anyway....

Tai Chi warmups, followed by 3 x 12 situps, weighted squats, and pushups.  5 sun salutes.

Brekky:  poached eggs and diced avo over crumbled rice cakes, evoo drizzled over it.  Yum.  Coffee, black no sugar.

One early client, lunch (cottage cheese & yoghurt mixed with chives from the garden, dipped with chopped raw veg...then finished the baked root veggies from a couple days ago), then gardening for a a few hours.  I finished putting in the cuttings in the side yard, which required a lot of (mindful) bending over...but not mindful enough to wear a longer shirt!  So now my lower back is burnt to a crisp.  Made for an interesting time at the Tabor circuit this evening.

Which was funny cos I ended up not being able to do a lot of the ab exercises ("Ouch!  My backside!")...but I also had to explain why I couldn't do a lot of the legwork on the floor.  My knees.

Okay...here's the story.  Last week's bowls was the final and we were at the very bottom, so none of it mattered anyway...why not get hammered?  So we did, and I ended up at my mate's house on the floor under a doona (well before 10pm, I'll add)--passed out cold.  In the middle of the night I got up looking for the loo but I didn't have any clue where I was.  I tried opening my mate's kitchen door (that leads to the hallway to the loo) but I couldn't open it--no light, y'know.  It's a wooden sliding door, but I'm trying to open it like a regular door.  I must've gotten pretty aggressive cos the next thing I know I'm on the kitchen floor on top of the door.  I get up and scramble for a lightswitch, then I find the loo, come back out and try to put the door back on the tracking.  "Good enough," and I crawl back under the doona.

The next morning we're all laughing about it, but the bruises on my knees are not so funny.  And that's why I couldn't do a lot of the legwork at Tabor circuit tonight.
