Workout
Austin Day 5 - Homeward Bound
It's pouring here. Time to go.
This morning I braved the rain and walked to the gym, only about 45 minutes after receiving the final tweet of the night from the Karaoke RV, which trolls around Austin roughly between the hours of 9pm and 6am, picking up passengers, getting them liquored up, passing around temporary tattoos that say things like "forever's gonna start tonight" or "i wanna know what love is", and, of course, offering the finest selection of karaoke tunes to accompany the ride.
The gym was empty as usual - in fact, it's possible that some of the machines hadn't been touched since my last visit, as they were "conveniently" still set to my weight (I'm talking about you, hamstring curl machine). I got in about a 60 minute workout before heading back to the hotel.
In summation, it's totally possible (and fun, and definitely badass) to stay in shape while at SXSW Interactive, and in the next 9 or so months leading up to the planning of SXSW 2011, I'm going to think of some structured ways to get people on the healthy bandwagon while still enjoying the social benefits of the event.
