arthritis sucks on a rainy morning walk
I was only in excruciating pain for the last 20 minutes, the first 30 were mildly comtemplative when I had planned to be "extra meditative" after reading lizmck's post this morning. I keep telling myself, "mind over matter." I think I do a relatively good job of daily focusing my mind off of my everyday arthritis pain, but sometimes focus can be difficult in severe pain. Still, I was surprised to tie my best time in this walk when I felt like I was dragging with no tunes and aching joints. I've been working on pushing myself to finish strong and sprint as much as a person can when she is already walking as fast as she can.

Hi-
I was reading your post about arthritis and I can relate. My mom has pretty severe arthritis in her legs and is a big time walker. For the past 6 months she has successfully been using wintergreen and marjoram oil rubbed onto her knees and found AMAZING relief from arthritis pain. Both oils are natural anti-inflammatories If you are into alternative healing you can get the oils at www.youngliving.org/nycoils or you can email me back at frankwild1@hotmail.com with any ??'s (ps, epsom salt baths also help with joint pain!)

Bummer about the arthritis but congrats on matching your PR! Since the two year old won't be with you this coming week, how about we do a walk together? Maybe we can push each other :)
