Stay on your side!

Does anyone remember that old Animaniacs episode where the Doctor goes out to a drive-in movie and his large & very Germanic date keeps shouting "STAY ON YOUR SIDE!" . . . No? Well, I do. It was hilarious. But I digress.

This lovely childhood memory came to mind because of an entirely less pleasant (and recurring) experience with the dance-based classes at Crunch—which, for the record, I love, except for one increasingly irritating factor.

Maybe it's because I grew up going to ballet, where we were scolded soundly for crossing in front of the room if we were late to class, or maybe it's simply because I have some sense of common decency, but I have grown very weary of all these ill-mannered Crunchers who think it's perfectly acceptable to (a) waltz in after class has already started and wedge themselves directly in front of someone who got there on time, effectively blocking said early-attender's view of the mirror and/or instructor and/or ability to move three inches without running into a post, or (b) parking themselves right on top of the spot where I've placed my shoes/towel/other personal effects so as not to lose my place while I run to the water fountain for roughly ten seconds. This happens to me in almost every dance class I attend there. I get that we're in New York and space is tight, but IMO if you get there late you should show some common courtesy for the people who arrived on time, and go take your place at the back of the room. And don't stand on my towel.

Aside from that, I did love Lillian's hip-hop class at Lafayette yesterday afternoon. SoI suppose this concludes my little rant. Anyone else have a similar experience?
