Workout

raindrops keep fallin . . .

I'm just gonna lay it out there: I'm getting really frustrated. I know that small, incremental, positive changes for the benefit of my health should be the goal, but it's really freaking annoying to be putting in all this effort only to have the scale not budge. At all. (unless it's to fluctuate up a pound).

But despite feeling discouraged (and despite the rain), I dragged myself to beaming at Crunch on 83rd. Do I now feel more balanced? Not sure, but I suppose I'm glad I didn't just sit at home, plotting my scale's demise while eating chocolate ice cream.

Hang in there Rachel. I'm right there with ya! I've been working on losing the last 10 for over 6 months now and I've either fluctuated up or stayed put.  It blows.  I'm rooting for you =)

BTW, you totally motivated me to go to the gym as soon as my oatmeal tummy settles.  I was feeling pretty lazy on my day off.

Me too!

I know that I'm getting stronger & healthier, but having QUANTIFIABLE proof of your efforts is very rewarding & motivating to me...maybe there are other numbers you can track in lieu of the scale? (ie. time your runs, more reps...?)

i wrote this on someone else's post earlier today, but...over the last 11 months i went from 31% bodyfat to 22% bodyfat but i actually weight MORE now than before. don't pay too much attention to the scale...if anything, go by body composition...and anyways, in the end, what really matters is how you feel.

ok, yea, i know....that's MUCH harder said than done...for me included ;-)

msh, my trainer told me the same thing. my weight has pretty much stayed the same since I started with her in October but I went from 25% bodyfat to 22% and she said that's the thing that really matters.

Oh, I am SO with you on this. In my experience, at least, sometimes your body needs to sort of gather itself before dropping; I've definitely had weeks of total plateau-ing and then I'll start losing again. Of course, it's one thing to type that on the internet, another thing entirely to feel positively about it when you're the one standing on a scale going "MOVE, damn you, MOVE!!" So yeah, hang in there. :)

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone!! I'm new to this site, and I already love it . . . I don't know about you, but sometimes just being able to say "I'm frustrated" helps me get over it & keep pushing forward. It's very cool to know there are so many of us in this together!
