I was not feeling the whole idea of the gym today. At all. I'm guess it's 'cause Trainer Mike whooped my ass yesterday. But, since I'm a psycho, of course I still went, though I went later than normal and with the explicit goal of taking it easier than usual. It certainly helped to know that some of the SW crew would be there. I ended up doing 35 minutes of Karen's Ride to the Rhythm, leaving early to head into pole dancing. Spin highlight: one of the songs just repeats "I. AM. NOT. A. WHORE" --- I just find it so appropriate considering I go into pole dancing right after. Love it! Anywhooooo...there was a sub today for Kyra, but I still enjoyed the class a lot. We learned some different moves, and the awesome not-a-stick-figure-bad-ass chick from last week, now also known as Momma Pole, was there again helping out this week's newbies in between her own kick-ass performances. She's awesome. I wanna be her friend. Best part of class: Momma Pole did a demonstration of the vagina-monster, which is basically a hyper-sexual, crotch-first alternative to a sexy crawl. CJ, Sandyliz, VonHottie and I all embraced the vagina-monster and are planning on teaching everyone at the SW party on Tuesday how to do it. In fact, Oliver, you guys really should arrange for a pole at the party....you do want proper entertainment, don't you?! Towards end of class we also actually climbed the pole!!! I did manage to get all the way up, but there was nothing sexy about it. And, once I climbed it once I wasn't really able to get back up there again for a little while - it seriously kills the arms. Oh well...I'm thinking I'm gonna start playing stripper music and practicing my sexy dance in my apartment so that I can "turn it on" in class more comfortably. You all should also know, that major bruising is currently developing on my shins (from climbing that dang pole) and that I also left some of my skin off my foot and inner thighs on that pole. Pole dancing is way more hard-core than anyone can really imagine.
