Workout
First summer run in the park (on the last day of summer)
After months of swearing by the treadmill to get my heart rate up, I finally took to Prospect Park for a run. Perhaps it had something to do with Crunch closing early for Labor Day, or because I had some serious thoughts to work out in my mind (my best friend's dad suffered a heart attack yesterday and died... at 60). Regardless of the motivation, I'm glad to have completed this workout cycle outdoors.
My running partner, Lance Armstrong (of Lance Armstrong: Run Longer, the Nike workout) must've recorded his podcast with Prospect Park in mind, because his timing was perfect. Just as I approached the final hill, Lance's words and music selection urged me to the finish line:
"This is it... one last push. Think strong, quick legs, and a race-pace intensity. It's your last challenge, so go for it!"
