Running To
I ran to Dad's. I never ran to anywhere before.
It's 2K from Dave's parents' to my parents' and Dave's parents live on the beach. It was so awesome to run across the beach and smell the saltwater and the wildflowers. This was probably my favourite run of all time.
I just did 35 more minutes of Running and Walking!

Swapping Treadmills
I switched treadmills with Rolene, and there is definitely easier about her treadmill. I ran for 23 minutes, with no problems, which she struggled on my usual treadmill.
32 minutes on the 'mill, 300 calories burned.
My next run with be in Canada.

I'm Not Done With You Yet, Fitbit
We needed to keep the workout relatively short so I could go to yoga. I found it really hard so I stopped for 30 seconds after 5 minutes and another 30 at 10:30. I stopped for a minute around 15:00 and for 30 seconds at 20:00. I then ran another three minutes.
Workout
Another Solo Run
35 minute run, 46 minutes on the treadmill. 5.0K (4.0K of that was running). 441 kCal burned.
I was listening to my favourite "on the 'mill" podcast: Stuff Your Mom Never Told You (How Stuff Works). I love this, so someone please suggest something similar-ish!

Oh D' Hamstrings
So all that yoga the other night means I can walk pretty well, but bending and climbing the starirs is a bitch.
I decided to run anyway yesterday. It was hard, but I managed to squeak out 26 minutes of running. Ouf. It was hard. I listened to a podcast about obesity and tried to feel smug that any day (hopefully by Sunday) now my BMI will dip into the "overweight" category.

108 Sun Salutations for the Summer Solstice
Yama Yoga Studio hosted an event for the summer solstice yesterday: 108 Sun Salutations.
Oh did I mention that it was 104°F and they turned off the A/C? So I guess that counts as a hot yoga class. We sis ten sets on ten sun salutations, holding downward dog for five breaths only on every tenth salutation, and rounding off the last eight by holding every downward dog for five breaths.

Early Morning Run
The guy at the gym was cycling under the air conditioner, which was switched off. So I ran in the heat for 26.5 minutes. I set the incline at 2 so it went as high as 4 during the "bay run."
I ran at 7 km/h.I missed my running buddy.

Monday Workout
I ran for 23 minutes and that doesn't include a little one minute break.
It got really busy at the gym but I managed to run for 23 and walk for 5 + 2.5. I did some sun salutations afterwards.
Which was good because I skipped yoga today.

We Ran
We ran, and I don't remember for how long, but I think it was for 23 minutes.

@oliver - I loved the holiday challenge and although I wasn't around for last year's summer madness or esb challenges they looked cool. I liked the picking and choosing of feats and a mix of fitness + eating properly + well being feats in addition to one workout challenge.

My fit bit the dust and now I am mlogging my every move on the fitbit website. It's so tedious, and then I have to add 5 minutes of typing every time I update until they send a replacement . :(

Is the swine flu still relevant? (Sorry, I don't live in North America. Nobody cares here.)

I hear you, sweat sister! I polkadot the treadmill with my sweat droplets. I have to use a skidless towel over my yoga mat. Sometimes I wear skidless toe socks in addition to the towel to make the sweat less obvious. Please help me introduce the post-workout wi-five to the world!

So we aren't required to complete each "feat" right? (Taking all feats into consideration I'm trying to calculate a delicious goal!)

Making my own yogurt is the "one thing I will never try" but not because I don't want to. I read French Women Don't Get Fat and got excited about making my own yogurt, but my husband said he would divorce me if I tried it! He is a nice guy, honestly; I guess he just felt really strong about me "brewing" cultures in the kitchen. I'm envious.

I'm on the bench for this one too. Here's hoping there's another great challenge around the corner...

Up until last week I was running a 15 minute mile. We ran a race and there was one lady ahead of us, walking, not even speedwalking, really, and we never passed her. Over the course of the whole race (2.6 miles). We are trying to speed up; not that a 13-minute mile is anything to be proud of...

Pfft. I like to weight myself because it feels game showy, but honestly I don't really feel my scale is being objective because it sees me all the time, you know?

Saucy D's room looks like how I would want my room to look (if my husband's clothes weren't on the floor*)
Run Leela Run's flowers in a vase + box of earplugs + moleskines made me swoon.
ZuZu Petal's bed spoke to me, too.
* OK I admit, my clothes are also on the floor but if it wasn't so messy anyway, I would be more tidy, I swear!

I have my book too, but haven't got past the first page. I never figured out what to do for body, or for belly, really. I'm not feeling the love!

Emergency Holiday Challenge?

It's weird, how I have gone on evening walks because I "had to get my steps" and started taking vitamins because I read a book about health as prescribed by the "spread the word" feat in the Emergency Holiday Challenge.
I've turned into a real fitness nut in the last two months. For serious. Good luck, habibti!

I wished that I hadn't read Eat Pray Love because it's pretty much the perfect book for this challenge. I like your ideas a lot and hope I get some soon.

I used audacity to mix my own intervals, for example, 60 seconds Daft Punk, 90 seconds Madonna; then I looped it until I had 20 minutes of music, then saved it as .mp3 and loaded it on my iPod.
I used different music for each week and stuck to the C25K program probably because I enjoyed making the mixes so much.
Good luck!
