What a disaster
Last week was an absolute disaster, workout wise that is. Try as I did, I could not get motivated to workout indoors by myself. New York has definitely spoiled me.
Not to mention that whenever I stepped outside, I immediately had a raging migraine. Enough whining however, time to catch up with you feat accomplishing, hula hooping, fun times having (you know who you are) people.
Workout
What am I going to do with myself
I'm in Houston for the next week, I have no car, no bike, no gym membership and no desire to go running in the crazy Houston heat.
So yesterday I amused and entertained myself by working out to fit TV, I did a little belly dancing, old school cardio and some yoga... I actually broke a sweat.
Workout
Grrr.. Catching up
I've been MIA for the last few days due to no internet, packing for a trip and now dial-up internet
So on friday I went for a two hour bike ride with a friend, I was having fitness envy as she was able to knock out 20 push-ups like it was nothing and I was struggling with getting just ten.
Finally one feat completed
Just completed feat #21 - Spot turn - fun, fun, fun! did about 5 in a row.
I miss dance class
Feats of Summer Log
For the record, I have never ever done anything like this. This is an entirely new world to me and I am loving it!
I usually get motivated to work out for 2 maybe 3 days and then stop for 2-3 weeks or god knows how long. So doing this is a challenge to myself as well - stepping my game up!
Workout
nyc Bridgerunners, yes I did.
Just got back from an amazing run with the bridgerunners, loved it! I had a little anxiety before I got there, and I almost didn't go. I've never run with a group before, and it proved to be amazing motivation. Part of it is not wanting to be last and wondering if the group is silently judging you, they are totally not btw.
Workout
nyc Bridgerunners Today
Yoga did not happen, I stayed up all night reading my sisters keeper and by the time I was done it was 5 in the morning.
I made up for it by biking for 2.5 hrs/ aprx. 20 miles. I really had to push myself by the end, otherwise I would've had to pay for the time I went over, great motivation!
Workout
What ab muscles? Plank, personal hell.
Today was an indoor day, started with strength training then cardio.
Started with Challenge # 12 - Plank personal, I remember doing this way back when, but I hadn't done it in a while. Here goes, at 30 secs I think I'm going to pass out, no way am I going to report back with a 30 sec time.
Lets get it popping!
I made a commitment to myself this year to become more active, think outside of the gym as it simply doesn't work for me. I'm going to limit indoor gym workouts to twice a week.
Here are some of the interesting free/cheapo things I plan on trying.
Workout

So this is my first official post for the feats of summer challenge as well as my introduction into the sw world.
Went bike riding around downtown for an hour thanks to Bike around downtown, it was quite thrilling as I haven't rode a bike since I was about 13. It did rain, but it was still a lot of fun. The staff at Bike and Roll, were quite nice and helpful.

Ooooh! this sounds like crazy fun, I'm in. July 11th, 13th and 18th is a no go for me, but any other dates in July are good. I vote central park for meetups. I'll be in Houston until July 3rd, so I can't join you all this weekend, but after that I'm free.

yay! I thought I would feel awkward being there by myself, but the vibe is so chill, my worries were unfounded.

All I can say, is that I played one year of middle school basketball, that's all, no working out or lifting and my arms have never lost that semi athletic build to them. I've come to accept them, but still a small part of me wishes they were just a little less bulky.

@ CJ if you come by tomorrow, I'll bring some passes with me. @ msh258 I believe its free, I checked the site and the blog and didn't see any mention of a cost. They meet at the Nike store on 21 mercer st. every wed at 7pm and sat @ 6pm and they run from that location for 3.2 miles... heres a map

I don't even know how I got here, but this is my type of game.
I am READY!!! Lets do the damn thing.
So, I'm working out tomorrow morning and then going for a bike ride in the evening time, does this count as 2 workouts or is there a limit of one w.o per day?
Super hyped!
