Workout to Pigout
45 minutes of kickboxing and light weights, ahead of an amazing meal at one of our newest French restaurants. I don't think it came out as an equal trade (thanks pate, duck confit, creme brulee) but it's better than not doing anything :)

Workout
More walking
I think we walked several miles each day. Judging from my shin splints that is...anyway, it was great!
Workout
And we walked...
We visited NYC for a long weekend and walked so much I thought my legs would fall off. This def. counts as a workout because I ate and ate till my stomach could take no more but still came home weighing 2 lbs less!
Workout
Back at it
My grad school classes started last week and now I'm back into a real routine. It might be a good thing for making it to the gym at least 3x a week. Looks like Tues/Wed/Fri will be my days. Hoping I can keep at it!

Numero Dos
I hit the gym again tonight, two nights in a row feels almost like a dream! I was a few minutes late into the kickboxing class but made up for it by swinging, punching, kicking just as hard as usual on a brand-new (aka ridiculously hard) bag. My knuckles feel ok now, so all in all it was a good workout!

Workout
Feeling confident
I happily made it to the 5:00pm class tonight instead of the usual 6:00 Monday night class which makes me feel like I have ridiculously more time when I get home. It's just an hour, but I notice it. Regardless, I felt great today, and was happy to be there. It's all about the attitude, right?

First workout of the New Year
Like countless others, I trudged into the gym for that first workout after the New Year last night. It was a good crowd, but nothing too ridiculous. Had a great kickboxing workout, joked around w/ the instructor about how I've been slacking, and found new motivation by way of an August beach vacation and an October bridesmaid dress in my future.

Aaannd I almost puked/passed out
That's what happens when you skip the gym for two weeks and may or may not be getting sick and don't eat much then scarf a bag of pretzels out of the vending machine 45 minutes before your kickboxing class. Awesome.

Blah Boxing
I'm getting blah-ed out on my gym and the same-old classes. Though my lack of energy may have had something to do with eating very little beyond 2 pcs. of peanut butter toast. Meh. Getting to the gym on the Monday after T-day is accomplishment enough, right?

I made it to a workout on monday-wednesday-friday of this week. Not bad after two weeks of nothing. Ugh. Tonight's boxing class was good though, and I ran/walked for about 20 mins beforehand to burn off a calorie-laden lunch.

It really does work!!! I finally tried this on Christmas night and drank wine and beer steadily from 3:30 pm to 12:30 am with a wine glass of water in between each drink and woke up at 9:15 the next morning without the smallest hint of a headache or stomachache, which is truly no small feat for me. I am usually hungover in some way if I exceed more than 3 drinks.
I did it again at a party on the 26th with the same results. Amazing. So simple it's hard to believe I never tried this before...that one glass of water you chug when getting home from a night out really doesn't cut it. This sure does.

Coordinated our family's donation efforts to one of our favorite local charities. Dropped off the goods on Saturday, quite a haul. The true meaning of the season. I appreciate the reminder.

A co-worker and I (sober!) belted out some tunes much to the entertainment and surprise of our fellow office staff at the holiday party. Good times. Hadn't sang like that since high school musicals!

Yay! You can def. do it! Just remember that it's hard to regret a workout, as hard as it can be to actually get around to!

Hey, if you want to sneak a peek at what the next day's food will be for SWeAT, thekitchn.com is posting them a day or so ahead of time. Just look for the post that says "Five Ways to Eat...". Yesterday around 10 they posted one for Edamame, and sure enough today's food is Edamame! :)

Wow. ;)
I just spent $13 on quinoa. Want to come over circa 9:00 pm and try some? I know that's late for you. Or just come over now and get some to cook for yourself?

Dude, it's one of the challenges! "Flog" (food blog" for a week. It makes you a bit more accountable because you're like, hmmm, if I eat a three musketeers or twelve handfuls of goldfish crackers, I will have to write about it for the internets to see. Also makes you think if you are really hungry or just bored.
I'm still beating you.
Do the SWeAT challenge today - eat broccoli and workout your quads.

I say "breakfast-ish" and so forth because I'm a grazer. I eat a little bit here and there. I like to snack!
Also realizing I am not drinking enough water.
