what will i do when i have caught up with criminal minds?
did another 30 minutes of exercising while watching 'criminal minds'. i'm really worried about what will happen once i've all caught up on the series. anybody else know of any good tv shows i can watch online ?? :)

october is probably the worst month, logistically for me to really really succeed at this challenge. i started the month in california, drove home and almost immediately started sitting another family for a week before going to a wedding in idaho and ending the month in seattle.
none of it is my own schedule.
none of it is my own food.
ahhhhh its so frustrating.

i walked for 30 minutes of an episode of criminal minds. i've been trying to catch up on the series. unfortunately now i have been only watching it online since i ran out of tv on dvd. it was rewarding on so many levels

more walking at home?
i discovered that if i do the parts of the 1 mile walk at home thing throughout an entire tv show, then i do end up with a workout.
because i am so busy, and rarely on my own schedule (lots of babysitting) this is what i am going to try to stick to. i started this on friday night when i was babysitting.
a few days in.
I HAD SOME DIET COKE TODAY! :( I have cheated a wee bit.
However.
I still have not eaten anything past 9 pm.
Workout
1 mile walk plus a good story.
Walked a mile to a cafe down by the beach.
While there, Emily and I witnessed a man getting arrested.
If things like that continue to happen, I will continue to take mile walks to places.
9:04 pm
Last night at 9:04 pm I looked at the clock and hated the clock so much. All of a sudden I wanted to eat something. I told my sister and she said "but are you even really hungry?" and I said "..no, it's just that we're watching TV."
So instead I made a hot cup of apple cider and drank it slowly.
When I went to sleep, not hungry but also having not eaten in a few hours, it felt good.

23 minute, 1 mile walk.
Used modern technology to my advantage.
Found a 1 mile walk at home video using the fitness on demand option. At first it felt nerdy, but then suddenly I was done with 23 minutes and 1 mile of walking. I'm going to try and do it again later in the afternoon.
Exercising releases endorphins.. endorphins make people happy! (Elle Woods, Legally Blonde)
..and I do feel very chipper now.
DAY 1!
When I saw Marisa (MarisaVH) post about this, I was so intrigued. After looking into it, I decided this would be awesome, especially because Marisa was doing it with a group of friends I could also be encouraged by and feel a part of.

oh my gosh. what a great idea, listening to a sermon on your walk. why in the world that never clicked is beyond me. i have like two months of backlogged sermon podcasts. perfect!!!!!!

I have heard that diet soda just isn't even good for you anyways! I am unintentionally doing that, with the giving up of soda for the month.

oh good call on the going to bed earlier!
last night we had family in and my bro was like "anybody want ice cream?" and it was 9:34 (do you like that i remember the exact time?? haha) and i have never hated him more!!! :)

suddenly I notice when it's past 9 pm a lot. sometimes I want to eat something at 8:45 just for the sake of getting that one last thing in.. how pathetic!! haha.
yeah the water thing, I think that's it. I've heard that said before.. when you're hungry, drink something. me and tea will probably be tight like ticks come november :)

oh my gosh, that no music or phone calls thing.. what a good idea. So much of our unhealthiness and stuff is definitely based on quickness and convenience. what a good kind of umbrella goal for the whole month - I think I'll join you on that one :)
I'm in the Bay area - what are you coming to California for ???
