And The Challenge Works Its Wonders Again.
I went to the gym tonight, despite getting out of work 45 minutes later than I planned (my own fault this time). I don't know how it does it, but the challenge always manages to take away my own excuses (most.. or maybe some... of the time).

Wait, what year is it???
I've lost all concept of time recently. I had a 6 hour work meeting yesterday. On a Sunday. I also had to go into work on Saturday. Yeah... so much for a WEEKEND!
What a year for a new year.
I've been a bad friend to myself over the past 4 months. I've been spending WAY too much time with my other friend... work. And yeah, I don't really like that friend anymore. I don't like hanging out with him anymore... he's kind of a douche. I mean, you know, 9a-6p with an hour break (that is an ACTUAL break... like, I don't see or talk to work at all) is fine...
Pushing myself.
Did Level 1 of 30 Day Shred again. It was fine. Same difficultly as yesterday but I'm accustomed to it now, so it's more tolerable. Not sure doing it right before bed is a good idea though. Too tired to do things properly. I had a twinge of pain in my ankle a couple timse during jumping jacks and had to pause to not hurt myself and re-focus.

Huh... that's interesting.
So um. I just realized something. There are 27 days left. I've done 21 workouts so far. I need to complete 50 workouts total in order to accomplish that feat. Let's do the math, shall we?
(50 workout - 21 workouts) / 27 days = I'M FUCKED!
I've slacked majorly. And now I have to do 29 workouts PLUS complete 18 feats in 27 days. Way to go, self! Way. To. Go.

I don't want to be sore anymore!
[FEAT: Workout - 20 of 50]
I feel weak. And useless. And like I'll never be able to workout. Ugh.
I tried a new yoga workout (The Trainer's Edge: Long & Lean Yoga with Baron Baptiste) and I was excited to find that it was both a new challenge and easy to follow. Except, I couldn't hold a pose for shit.

Yoga, A Hot Shower and Electricity!
[FEAT: Workout - 19 of 50]
Didn't get home in time to go for a walk (thanks, work!). However, I did come home to ELECTRICITY! WOOHOO!
I did 45 minutes of yoga to stretch my angry angry muscles. It was kind of nice to feel almost every muscle in my body being stretched... it helps in understanding all the yoga poses.

Want to be stronger? Take up pole dancing. No, seriously.
[FEAT: Workout - 18 of 50, Fitness Class - 2 of 3] This week was a bust workout wise. As in, I didn't workout AT ALL (except for today). Working 10-12 days everyday and having to get up at 3am for work a couple times kinda kills anything outside of workout. I did manage to accomplish a 3x6:30, but after that 14 hour day of work that started at 4:30a I could bring myself to get up at 6:30a.

I solved the mystery... well, part of it.
[FEAT: Workout - 14 of 50]
During my workout tonight, I managed to score what I dubbed the "awesome elliptical machine." Why is it awesome? Cause I can maintain an 11 with the greatest of ease, while still having my heart rate up. And guess what... I figured out why. Cause it's 11... KILOMETERS. Fucking metric system. CMON! No wonder it's so fucking easy, it's METRIC.

No, it's not in Atwater Village...
But apparently Hollywood isn't a neighborhood in LA.
Why the hate SW? Hollywood is like the most FAMOUS neighborhood in Los Angeles... so uh, why isn't it in the drop-down box? Can we fixy-fixy this?
2 miles in under 20 minutes is awesome! I'm considering running outside in the morning and I'm trying to figure out how long it will take, since I have to factor in walking to and from the park. I was thinking it would take me 30-40 minutes to run the 2.2 miles around the park, but if you did it in under 20 I figure I could do it in at least 20! So thank you for that inspiration and guidance!

Um... I fidget anyway possible. Rapidly tapping fingers on the table/desk. Leg jiggling. Tugging/twirling my hair. TOUCHING MY FACE/HEAD (I hate this habit). If I'm wearing a hoodie, I play with the zipper ALL the time. Flicking my finger nails.
I can always find a way to fidget. The more annoying to people around me, the better! :P

O. M. G. Heidi's website is RIDICULOUS. Does she know it's not 1998 anymore?

I thought the same thing. Especially since it said something along the lines of "lose 3lbs of fat with this weird tip." Like, really? That was as creative as you could get? "Weird tip." You should seriously consider expanding your vocabulary.

I'm worried about not completing the challenge as well, though I'm sure there will be at least ONE person, if not LOTS of peeps who'll finish with flying colors. If can at least complete 50 workouts, I'll be content. :)

I only attend parties for one reason. Alcohol. Unless Zumba has alcohol, they have no right to call it a party. Liars.

That's how I cook it, and it comes out quite tasty. But there are a few crazies (love you, crazies!) out there who think it's a no-no to cook rice that way. Because essentially, when you strain the rice, you're straining out all of the nutrients that were cooked out of the rice.
But really... I don't have an hour an a half to let the rice simmer in liquid (I cook it in chicken broth instead of water for more flavor), so it's getting boiled. I'll get my nutrients from vegetables, thanks. :)

Oh yes... I know for fact that the less I sleep the more I eat. On days when I can only get 3-4 hours of sleep (those days are few and far between, but they still exist and I hate them and they should die) I end up eating TWICE the amount of food I normally eat. It always feels like I'm eating to stay awake. Even if I eat healthy for the most part, I'm still eating much more than I normally do.
Posted in response to: You're Hungry because you don't sleep enough!

I'm usually moderately hungry after a workout, which means I have enough time to make a healthy meal. But there are occasions after working out when I feel like I'll die if I don't eat and my go-to food is always a bowl of cereal (usually corn flakes, my favorite). It a nice, quick food fix and it doesn't completely negate all my workout efforts.
