Feat Accompli!
Workout
wednesday: cardio
45 minutes of ADD cardio:
- 25 minutes on the cross trainer
- 10 minute intervals on the scary / tall StairMaster climber thingy
- 10 minutes on bike
PS >> 26 days till the beach.
Workout
catchup post: trainer tuesday
An awesome one hour upper body workout with the trainer that left my abs sore sore sore.
Workout
catchup post: monday
30 minutes of cardio - precor machine, slow & steady since i'm recovering from an illness.
Sick sick sick.
I haven't made it to the gym since Tuesday. I've been sick as a dog, home from work, lying around wishing I could stop coughing because my throat is completely raw from it. Suuuuuucks.
Feat Accompli!
Workout
34 days till I'm on a beach.
This morning, I had a strength traning session with the trainer. Same workout as las week but with heavier weights and more reps. It was good. Hard but not impossible. My jeans are fitting better.
That's all I've got. I might be coming down with a cold or something. Feeling blah.
Workout
Spin me right round, baby; you know the rest.
I went to my very first spin class tonight. Woo hoo! Go me! Spin has always terrified me. I don't know why. All that spandex, maybe. Or those hunky calves, veins popping out all over the place. Not that I'd know, but my imagination runs wild.
Workout
A.D.D. cardio take 2
Today was supposed to be a lifting day, but I'm suuuuper sore from yesterday's yoga class. That should probably count as my third strength training workout of the week, especially since I'm prioritizing cardio to ditch a little body fat before my trip.
Workout
(Weekend) Warrior 1
Workout: yoga, cardio, walk home. And now a long, long walk with the dog.

Workout
Strength training
1 hour of the weekly workout prescribed by the trainer.
The Boy totally wussed out on me because he "had to work late," but secretly I think it has more to do with how much he's been complaining about his "pecs" being "totally sore." Ha! He's great.
Workout
Wednesday: cardio
While The Boy got his second personal training session with my trainer, I did 30 minutes of intervals on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the arc trainer, followed by 10 minutes of stretching. And then another 10 minutes on the arc trainer at a very slow pace with the resistance cranked way up. Just to kill time till he got out.
Workout
I <3 my trainer.
The man knows how to kick my butt and motivates me without raising his voice. Today's workout was a strength training session that clocked in a little over an hour. Loved every single lactic acid inducing minute of it.

Doh! I would also like to know how to remove numbers from the feat. I entered 10 thinking that meant I've done 10 and didn't realize it meant number of sets. Teehee!

Hawk, you make a good point. The reality is that I want him to join for me me me, because I need a gym partner and -- in theory -- who better to share my gym with than the person I've been sharing everything else with for 5 years. But baby steps will definitely be key.
vonhottie, partner situps and stretching = almost sexy time. I think you're right on the money with that one. I'm not sure how he'd feel about wearing pink lipstick, but I'll see what I can do ;) I have a feeling he'll go for the "reward" over anything else. I should work out a contract. Muahahaha!

Msh, it's not the canned stuff, it's the stuff you find in the fridge section by the soy milks. It's definitely not 100% paleo since they do add vitamins to it, but ohhhh my god, it has the most creamy texture that makes my coffee taste downright sensual. It's as close to cow's milk as I've ever tried — almond milk's got nothing on coconut!

Oh, uh, I should mention that my macro breakdowns are 20% carb, 40% protein, 40% fat. And most of that fat's coming from coconut milk and avocados. I feel downright decadent!

Hey killerc, didn't see this till just now. I've gone a few days without fruit and nuts, and all my sugar cravings are gone. Which absolutely rocks, because I've been seriously plagued by those cravings for a few weeks now. Suuuucks! I'm pretty sensitive to fructose, I think, because an hour after eating an apple with almond butter, my stomach swells up and I get light headed. So another nice side effect has been less bloat and dizziness.
I've been eating veggies by the ton, so I'm getting plenty of carbs and fiber. Not sure if I'm really missing out on a whole lot by skipping the fruits. I do think I'll add back berries at some point because they don't cause the bloat or light headedness.
You're definitely right about getting enough healthy fat, and I think I'm going to add nuts back in gradually. Maybe starting with the ones I don't like as much (does ANYONE love Brazil nuts??). I've added in coconut oil and cut out the canola, so I'm getting some healthy fat that way. I also eat a lot of avocados (technically a fruit, right?).
I think I just needed a detox for my system because I was seriously overdoing it with the nuts, nut butters and fruit. Like literally a thousand calories or more in a day from just those 3 things. Not cool.
By the way, have you guys tried coconut milk in your coffee? Uh may zing.

Oooh msh that would be great!
Butwhatifido, ugh, sucks right?? I'm like that for all nuts -- and even worse if it's nuts + dried fruit. Larabars are my kryptonite.

You too, huh? I dunno why I did it to myself, knowing full well how great I feel when I'm eating paleo. *Le sigh*
I just found this, though, and it's getting all kinds of creative kitchen juices stirring: http://paleogirls.com/

Meh, I'm with you on the Bikram. I love love love the heat, but I can't jive with the philosophy. Or the lack of flow. I went to a dedicated hot yoga studio 2 nights ago -- non-Bikram -- and I loved it.

Yeah, msh, I know it's not alcohol in my case because I haven't had a drink yet. I felt crappy 2 hours after the first dairy incident. Yuck.

You. Are. Awesome.
And kinda my yoga-life twin because I just had the same experience as you with headstand and side crow. Best feeling ever -- you get there and hold it and feel so....alive.
Now if only I could get pigeon to work with me.

"The endophins that are released during exercise are the body’s natural painkillers, and they also play a key role in long-term relationships. Endorphins are released during sex; they are also released during physical contact and exercise. When you are feeling, cold, unloving and you want a breakthrough go workout!"
LOVE that. I should print it out and carry it around in my wallet.
