not my night
boy was i having a time of it tonight.
after a mere 2 laps i really thought i was gonna die!
sore arms and a late swim after a decently long day do not make for a good workout.
the sad part is that nina, my swim partner, was feeling the same way, so it was really difficult to motivate each other.
30 minutes. 21 laps. 1050m.

weekend off, back to it
after an extended weekend of no workouts (saturday - monday), i finally got back to it today.
it seems those few days off served me well.
swimming: 50 minutes. 42 laps. 2100m. 1 foot cramp. 2 calf cramps. and a creepy bystander the next lane over.

creepy hike
a quick 45 minute hike included:
an overcast, muggy morning; a snake poking its head out of a log; caterpillar sex/orgy (no other way to describe it); lots of bugs; me, by myself, in the middle of the woods; dense fog over the chattahoochee.

i didn't even have to think about it
i just changed into my suit, grabbed my bag, and went.
45 minutes, 35 laps, 1750m.

finding my pace
i think that's what i did tonight.
rushed to swim a few laps before the pool closed.
i found myself doing exactly what i do when i run sans treadmill, telling myself to slow down.
"pace yourself" is what constantly goes through my head.
i'm pretty sure it worked tonight. that, and i'm just progressing in my swimming.
35 minutes, 27.5 laps, 1375m.

my first swim, bike, run
although not in that order.
i walked into the gym with the intent of running the whole time. but then my knee started to bother me.
15 minutes of treadmill was followed by 10 minutes of bike.
as i was about to add some elliptical some chick decides she wants the last machine.
i let her have it and decide to do some upper body strength work.

yes, no, maybe, no, yes
this is my thought process relating to wether or not i am/was going to workout today.
i took yesterday off, so i was sure i was going to workout today.
then i decided not to (it was hot and i wanted to be lazy).
while at sushi dinner with a girlfriend i said, "well we are having an early dinner, so i will probably have time to go home and workout. maybe."
I just did 11 more minutes of Running and Walking!

that's the only way i can describe myself and my workouts right now.
i just can't seem it get enough of it.
it's odd too. i usually judge a workout by how much i sweat and pant.
i definitely pant a lot swimming, but of course i don't sweat outright because i'm already in the water.
