Workout
home gym workout
practiced for the million minute month today. one hour of strength training and a jog. It felt good-
Workout
after race EASY run
I did an easy 2 miler today just to loosen up my miles and stretch, stretch, streeetchhhh.
and then did upper body weights.
It felt good.
Workout
2nd 5K Race
And I finished in 30:03! I'm closer to my goal of getting into the twenties.
I was astounded by this time b'c I had only trained 3 days in between races and felt sure my endurance would have diminished as a result.
Guess it didn't.
Workout
1st Run after a bout of sickness
Yesterday I went for a lonnng slow run, the weather was gorgeous, I felt good, I was flying high for the rest of the day. It was my first run in 5 days after I fell ill and my last opportunity to run outside before my race this Sunday. I only hope it was enough.
Workout
Midnight Muscle
Couldn't sleep the other night. Too much caffeine late in the evening so I got up and did some weightlifting. It felt good and it helped me clear out my head and I was finally able to get some sleep.
Workout
packed gym
last night I wanted to do an easy 2 miler but I couldn't b'c all of the treadmills were either broken or in use...so I settled for the excercise bike. my muscles didn't get warmed up the way I was longing for all day and I ended cutting my workout short out of frustration. I might have to go and join another gym just so I can ensure a workout every day. went home and did my si
Workout
1st Race of the Series
And I finished in 31:14!!! My 1st goal to is to in the 20's and I have 2 full weeks to train.
I am going to do this.
Workout
Interval Training - Not as bad as I feared.
With just 3 days until the 5k, I decided to take Killercadoogan's advice and interval train and to my surprise it wasn't as gut-wrenching as I remembered. Does that mean my endurance has improved or maybe I wasn't doing it right. Either way it was actually fun.
Workout
Early morning Turbo Jam
I burned some calories and sculpted some muscle turbo jam style!

that is too funny. I love moms that have a different approach to motherhood, it's so refreshing.

Awesome Bro, I'm proud of you guys. That is a radical first time!
I'm curious, so now what happens...after you run the Idioticus, do you take a couple days to rest and recoup or will you keep jogging like it's yo job?
-I finished in 29:00 minutes yesterday-not too bad considering I was out the night before. my next goal is the low 27's now.

msh258, I really like your idea. I'd like to try it, maybe even for just a day just to remember all that I see and feel that doesnt fully register b'c I'm on to the next thing before I know it.

Seriously bro, I love Richard Simmons, remember that video that Mom had? Sweating to the Oldies? I totally had all his moves down! In fact, if I could find that Video and somehow turn it into a DVD I'd still work out to RS... dead serious.
I can't believe you saw him. Lucky Duck

Stand up is a no-brainer for me too. I have to get up and move around. A few times an hour. Maybe its a genetic ADHD thing that we share...
...maybe it's all the water I drink all day long that keeps me on the go!
Either way Feat Accompli Boyyyyy !!!!!

This one has been very easy for me. And I'm glad because I wasn't sure how my body, mind, friends would react to me not drinking alcohol. I sort of like being with it all the time. And the best part is I can still have fun, who knew?

I was really frustrated with this feat after discovering just how much added sugar is in my go-to foods: soups, bread, yogurt etc.
I was doing okay though until I popped a cough drop to soothe my sore throat and realized that they too, contain sugar. I shouldn't have been surprised by this... After that I freaked- and made waffles with maple syrup and have not even thought of going back. Actually I have and I really don't think I can do it. I'm addicted to sugar. I may try cutting cookies, brownies and my fav sour gummi worms out for a week but still eat my soup and bread guilt free.
Feat non-accompli :(

I just remembered that even my salad dressing (Asian Toasted Sesame) has sugar in it...this is going to be tough.

Thanks Olivia_Jane, I love love love sugar too and that's part of the reason why this challenge will be such a challenge.
One more question:
So if my Cascadian farms bran fiber cereal has 11 grams of added sugar, I should ban that as well?

Any reason to soak it up in the bath tub is fine by me, I'll have to replace my usual glass of wine with a cup of tea though.

Does jam count as sugar? I want to do this feat but I want to do it right.

I did the faster pace at 6.0 and the slower pace at either 5.2 or 5.3.
this week I'm thinking of doing 6.0 - 5.5 about 7 or 8 times.
what do you think?

sometimes I do that too, guiltfree, but my fave is tostitos with melted cheese dipped in salsa and sour cream!

damn you've got an 8 minute mile, did you get there by interval training?!
I'm really very proud of you.

I'm hopeful for you! I'm so happy that you've found really great people to surround yourself with and that you are in such a healthy state of mind. Make 2010 your year brother! Because only You can!

thanks I know. I just hate the thought of interval training. I did it with Virginia a couple times and I know its proven to work but for some unknown reason I just don't want to do it.... but I'll try it and keep you posted on the results.
...I wish I had a trainer- ho hum

OH, I already signed up. I'll try to get Jacqueline involved, I'm also trying to get Peter into it. We'll see, I described some of the feats, like Sugar Free and Swap Meat and he's all about it. I'm still on the fence about Jan Plan Plus. I mean I'd like to prove to myself that I can go w/out alcohol for a month but I'm scared. Besides, my birthday is this month. Just how will I celebrate??
