Workout
Starting again
Back at the gym after a month. In my defense, I was "homeless" for a week, and now have successfully moved across the country to Virginia. The gym felt good, but I was definitely slow. I will have to work back up to my previous mileage.
I just did 90 more minutes of Running and Walking!
Workout
Walk -play-walk
Another 3 mile walk with the toddler with a break in the middle to swing and go down the slide, of course. I am thinking about trying to work in some strength training during the stops, but I will first have to try some moves out at home, so I don't injure myself in front of gaping strangers.
Workout
Jogging Stroller
I borrowed the neighbor's jogging stroller and attempted a run outside today. It went pretty well until we passed a playground with a "slide", and a water fountain, and the chapel bells, and bunnies. Still a good workout, just a little slower than I thought. 3 miles (I didn't time it).
I just did 120 more minutes of Running and Walking!
Workout
Back to Running
Two weeks post-op, and I ran the whole 30 minutes! 2.82 miles in 35 minutes. I rock!
Workout
Music to My Feet
I walked with the boy to music class and back. About 2 1/2 miles. That and all of the jumping in a toddler music class plum wore me out.
I just did 40 more minutes of Running and Walking!
Workout
A Walk in the Park
A 2 mile route around the Midway, with a few delays to count trees, look at flowers, point at letters. It took about 40 minutes which was just right while pushing the stroller.

Workout
Post-Op
Today was my first workout since having my gallbladder out last Tuesday. I only walked because I haven't gotten the all clear from my doctor yet. 2 miles in 35 minutes.
It felt good to get moving, but I really want to run again. Next week, hopefully, I will get back to it.
Workout
Run and Swim
I did my 35 minutes (2.62 miles), and then hung out in the pool with my 16 month old. It wasn't much of a workout for me, but it did make me miss the water and think I should look into getting a suit I could actually swim some laps in...
For now, only one more workout until I have my gall bladder out on Tuesday, and exercise goes on hold for at least a week. Ugh.
Workout
Hating the Heat
What I thought was a beautiful day turned out to be torture on the treadmill. I am having such trouble as the weather gets warmer. 32 minutes, 2.45 miles.
I hope I get a fan next time.

Can a 5k count as a group activity? I know it's not a class, but part of the reason I signed up was to be part of a larger group all trying to accomplish a goal at the same time.

Thanks! It didn't feel like it at first, but now it does feel like actual progress.

Brave or foolhardy. ;)
Good luck to you on the half! Having spent a rare white Christmas is Dallas this year, I hope next year bring better weather to my favorite state.

Oliver - Thanks for the encouragement! I think I am going to reset my target a little, but I will still have gone to the gym more this month than I had in the previous 4 or 5 which is good. Plus, I feel great which is really the point, isn't it?

MAGG -
I have been generally doing whatever the "interval" program is preset to, but sometimes I raise the incline so that I am working my thighs more and my calves less because I get cramps. If I am afraid I am not working hard enough or too hard, I will take a minute to check my heart rate - if I am in target then I don't worry about how I am feeling too much. Good luck!
