Work out+ frog legs= not the best thing ever
Ok, it's possible it was really the month and change I took off from strength training more than the frog legs I had at the Malaysian restaurant with my boy, but today was week. I walked a ton today, walking 3 times as long to get to work today, and walking home, then walking back from Chinatown by way of the gym. That was fine. That was great. The strength training was

Hike in Blue Hills + walk all over South End
Yesterday morning, I went on a hike with my gym to Blue Hills in Canton, MA. It was nice- a few hours up and down hills with some new people is what I call a good Sunday morning. I was ready to head to the food cart festival back in Boston upon our return (too bad it was totally not worth the time and effort, as it was tiny and totally over advertised, so all the waiting, and I got

95 degrees, and I decide to do my workout outside.
Today, despite what I thought would be an easy day, was very busy. My workouts came as brisk walks, 25 minutes in the morning (1.5 mi) and almost an hour in the afternoon (3 mi). It was really hot, and I had planned on going to the gym, but instead, I decided to make delicious food (homemade granola, corn cherry scones, and an amazing tomato tart to be specific). 30 minute interval, 40 minute regular/ walk
So, today I got back into my normal workout of intervals on the train. Unfortunately, a month without working out (or perhaps the yoga workout, though I blame the month off more) has made a 30 minute interval the max I can do. My speed was up for that 30 minute, but that is 15 minutes shorter than what I was doing when I left. Ah well, I'm sure I'll be back up there soon enoug

My first yoga class (ever)
So, I've never been intimidated going to the gym, no matter my size. I've never really been intimidated by machinery or men grunting or people who talk about their heart rates or diet regimen like they are planning the space launch. However, competitive yoga people freak me out beyond belief, so while I've always been very intrigued by the idea of yoga, the concept of going to a cla

walk 4 miles around mashpee
Yesterday, we went to the Cape and walked around with Annawon, a Mashpee Wampanoag. He took us to the herring fish ladder, th source of their fresh water on the lake (the Mashpee Lake), took us to some stunningly beautiful marshes and beaches, and also to the tribal lands. It was wonderful. I'd say over the course of it, we walked 4-5 miles. Since I don't have time for w

15 minutes intervals on eliptical. 25 minutes on rowing machine. 12 minutes on bike. I decided I am going to get a bike at some point, and to prepare, I am going to add a bit of bike riding into my work out.
Workout
2 hours harvesting/ weeding
On a day with a heat index of 108. definitely counts as a work out!

Welcome, kelseygrace! There are probably many of us on here battling two voices (whatever those two voices are saying), but I know having some place to hold me accountable, even if it is only to myself, is a wonderful thing. Good luck on the journey.

Thank you, that sounds very interesting. I think I am smitten with San Fran now, and definitely hope to head out again in the next few years. I will have to look that up.
