Hmm, so I've only taken sport once, but it's actually more like core + yoga + aerobics. So you're constantly moving and stretching, often with the weights in hands, often in farmiliar yoga poses. There are just a TON of reps of everything. Fred said that it's all about burning fat - so while you're sweating you can still breathe, it's not like totally anaerobic where you're out of breath and burning calories, etc. It's definitely worth a try! I wasn't sore the day after, but man oh man my inner legs hurt today in places I never thought possible! Which means he worked a whole new area, which is great. Good luck!

Incredible, right? My friend turned me onto it and after trying just about every workout you can imagine, I'm hooked. It compliments all my other workout activities, too. Don't you just start clenching muscles randomly throughout the day? Ha! Nice work! Keep it up!

yes! i thought i'd done it before - but it was Hot Yoga with Power Yoga - Bikram was a WHOLE different story! HARDcore.
Posted in response to: unsure whether hot yoga or pulling on jeans after was harder...

i used to run the brooklyn bridge which was BRUTAL. but somehow, the williamsburg bridge isn't all that windy (or maybe i'm just totally too layered to notice). i'm from North Carolina and even though i've lived up north for 10 years (eek!) i STILL get so cold. so don't laugh when i describe EVERYTHING i wear.
1) two pairs of running pants - not sweats, but actual stretchy, high-tek warm running pants. that's one pair of tights and one looser bootcut-ish ones over, but both made out of cold weather running material. tights are from lulu and pants are just some general running brand - not sure.
2) tank, long sleeve winter running shirt UNDER a zippy (also running material) - long sleeve was some asics running shirt i bought for a race and zippy is either a long lululemon one or i have nike ones i like - with hoods!!
3) fleece ear band warmer (sometimes a full on tabagon)
4) gloves - not running gloves, just regular ones - with flaps that expose the fingers - my hands can get really hot and sometimes i just tuck my hands into sleeves or have those running shirts with thumb holes which are perfection.
yes i look hilarious when i run. but i stay warm!! obviously you warm up once you start going, but i hate being cold, so i rather have too many layers on than too few.
it is SOOOO hard to get out there in the winter. i haven't been running more than once or twice outside in the mornings a week. i feel like anything over 32 i can handle, but when it's in the 20s...ugh. once you get out there though you're totally over the hump. in the meantime, hot yoga, pilates, etc are such great ways to keep motivated, but INDOORS!! happy running!!

it's never easy getting out there, but once you do, it's so worth it. especially when it's so beautiful. you feel like you're the only one seeing it above the busy city! though i did see some guy literally climbing the bridge just to get a better view. happy running!

i know i didn't get tix, either! but i'm loving the new cd. still going through and listening, but it's their great sound with some new stuff mixed in. i'm obsessed with #1 and #2 so far. that's how far i've gotten. i tend to get obsessed with songs and listen over and over again :)

Must be! Yes, I love this class (LOVELOVELOVE Bergen) and while she draws a crowd, it's never been THAT crowded. Went today at 1230pm and it was MUCH better. I couldn't even workout with it so packed...messed up my game! But good people are working out I guess!

I highly recommend the Exhale Boston Arlington location! The core classes are great - I took both a Basics and a regular class. Both were tough! Mostly though I love LOVE the yoga studio. It's dimly lit and warm and they play great music. I really liked the teacher Emily. But took others who were also great. Pamper yourself in the dressing room after if you can - they have showers, steam rooms and yummy tea. You'll deserve it after working hard in class! Enjoy Boston!
