Preparing for torture.
Oops....missed National Running Day....
Spin class with Liz with a busted mic. Poor Liz trying to scream over the music. Poor newbies trying to figure out what the hell was happening as Liz's class isn't that intuitive...luckily, I'm an expert!
I just did 45 more minutes of Cycling, Spinning, & Rowing!
Workout
He noticed me!
Spin class with Kenny. I love that dude.
I was rocking the stabilization ride when he yelled "Look at my girls over by the door! Do you see how still they are?". Extra motivating.
It's so CRAZY....getting singled out by a guy who doesn't even know my name makes me pedal faster, stand up longer and fills me with pride. Weird.
Class(es) Taken:
The Ride - Kenny M.
Place:
Crunch - Union Square
Date:
Thu, 05/27/2010 (All day)
I just did 110 more minutes of Running and Walking!
I just did 120 more minutes of Dancing, Pilates, & Aerobics!
Workout
Pilates in the BIG room! Awesome.
I love pilates in the big studio as opposed to the yoga studio. Room to spread out. More mirrors. Why aren't they all downstairs?
I was just looking back at my earlier posts when I first tried pilates (as part of the feralicious challenge, thank you very much!)...I'm pretty proud that I stuck with it. I'm still pretty horrible, but definitely getting better every time!

What's that? You ran 5.6 miles?
My longest run ever! It was penance for wine/cake/burger/chips weekend diet. Did I mention wine?
VERY slow & steady, (took 80 minutes) but I didn't stop at all. A couple blisters prevented me from going farther...probably a good thing because I was good & sore later. Thank god I did a mega-stretch session post run or it would have gotten really ugly.
Workout
2 mile run & kinda lame pilates class.
Did a solid 2 miles run on the treadmill, watching The Craft....lovelovelove every time.
Second on the list for class, but got a bummer spot in the room and spent most of the class trying to do leg circles without hitting the wall or my neighbors and trying NOT to focus on the woman who took 3 spaces. Hello high road!

ran some more...
have not been to the gym in days!
Ran 3.6 miles in 45 minutes. Easy breezy.
I think it's time for me to step it up somehow....faster or longer?
Workout
5K FAIL!!!
So, it's my third 5K race. I'm an old pro now. It's a little fun run near my friend's house out in lovely and rural Flemington, NJ. Liz & I are chatting and I have my ipod on while the race official is making announcements to the 100 or so participants (I was #5! Adorable).
Workout
and on 5/13...
I took Spin class and Strength & Alignment.
If I recall, I was AWESOME in spin class that day, and then totally fizzled out for S&A.

You don't need to start over...just keep moving forward!
My first time outside was horrible, I felt like a fraud, like every step I had taken on the treadmill didn't count. After regularly running 3.5 miles on the treadmill, I couldn't make it 3.5 BLOCKS.
In retrospect, I was nervous. I had built up this transition in my head and I freaked myself out.
You'll be fine!
Think about how far you have come! And think about the millions and millions of people STILL sitting on their couch who don't have the balls or the commitment to do what you've already done.

I just did my first two 5K races...I don't know if the actual running has grown on me, but the unbridled pride in having reached my goal of being able to run 5K is a feeling that a girl can get used to!
You guys can do it!

That is awesome! You can do it. 20 minutes was a total threshold for me...I was DYING to get there and it was kinda hell, and then something clicked.

Funny!! I went to Jack Rabbit for the first time yesterday too! I think my guy's name was Terry, and I SO appreciated his patience. I tried shoes with insoles, without insoles, laced different ways...taking my 100% flat feet and busted up ankle into consideration.
The video analysis was a trip-I loved watching my calf muscles ripple in slow motion!

Luckily, to the untrained eye, I think my end-of-class/I-can't-hold-this-for another-second scowl might look like a smile.
So instead of looking mean, I look like an insane person.
Today I did my first yoga class....another challenging experience, but I'm with you guys...I'm doing my best! Thanks for the support!

Thanks everyone! I toasted myself with lots of wine last night (I neglected to swap out the food though, had a burger too...delish)
My dad is doing great, just furious to be missing the end of the ski season...but he was jazzed to see his SW props!
@ kornflowers...I don't have a recipe per se, but I'll write it up for you. Pretty basic, but I love it.
