Workout
Whiskey pushup competition
So last night my gf and I played a somewhat sadistic game that involved doing pushups to failure or for time. Whoever did fewer/slower pushups had to take a shot of whiskey. Im not sure what prompted this, but we did a lot of pushups.
Workout
Biking and stretching
Not much yesteray, but i biked a fair amount, and unwound with some much-needed stretches at night
Workout
Catching up
So I'm WAY behind on all my feats. Fuck. But Monday I at least made a dent in em, push-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, etc.
Workout
Flipping hay bales
Yes, this was a workout. If you don't believe me, try it. Get a big (as in 4 1/2 feet tall) round bale of somewhat damp hay and flip it over. Repeatedly. Then continue pushing it around until it's where you want it to be in the field. Farm work is a serious workout, none of us would need to go to the gym if we were farmers. Oh and I did some pushups.
Workout
Trail run thursday
Still visiting with family, it was nice out side, so my mom and I ran for 3(ish) miles in the park.
Feat Accompli!
Workout
Bikram yoga class
It was awesome, but I am sore now. I think I sweat out a couple gallons in that studio. The windows were fogged up by the time we all left.
Cooked pork chops and roasted veggies for my family.
My family in Louisville (mom, stepdad, two young siblings) are very busy people, and while they're all very fit and exercise a lot, they eat a ton of processed, packaged crap. So I think they enjoyed the "feral" meal I made - it was a change of pace from their usual routine. Anyway, pork chops, roasted potatoes and red bell peppers, and roasted asparagus.

Workout
Trail running in KY
So I'm in Kentucky visiting my family. I went on a nice easy, 30 min. trail run with my mom. I like trail running, it's easier on my joints. Remarkably, i felt little to no pain on this run.
Workout
dips, chin-ups, and push-ups
Doing max sets of chins and dips makes my arms pretty useless afterwards. My arms feel like jelly.

This looks awesome, I'm totally in. I think I'll be much more motivated to work on this than I was for previous challenges/feats. Not to demean previous feats, but racking up 1000 squats, pushups, situps, etc., seems like a fundamentally more badass accomplishment than say, drinking 10 smoothees, making my bed everyday, or buying a houseplant. Also, none of these require going to a gym. Door-frame pull-up bars are cheap (although installing one may violate your lease), and there are always playgrounds, tree branches, etc.

Thanks! It's a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, kinda neat though. I'm only here for the summer working in the labs, in the fall I'll be blogging from Tucson!
