It's been a long time but I need you, New Yoikers!
Hello all,
I have been an extremely un-model pregnant Social Workouter and basically gave up exercise as soon as I got up the duff. Very lame. I hope you are all as splendiferous as ever. I look forward to joining you all again properly in the new year. Hey ho, here we are, 6 months pregnant and all going well so far. However, I have a problem!
There's a creature inside me!
We had our first scan on Thursday and it was quite probably the singlularly most amazing thing I have ever seen. It bounced around and wriggled and annoyed the woman doing the scan because it wouldn't stay still. Every time I laughed, it bobbled around. It was mega!
And now that I know everything's definitely okay, I am heading back to the gym!
6 months to go...
Oliver, I demand child support!
Due to your fandangled website and its ludicrous encouragement to eat better and move more and not drink copious amounts of delicious lemon cider accompanied by Mr Marlboro's finest, I am officially up the duff. And I am holding you solely responsible (hey, I'm pregnant, logic doesn't apply...). I shall assume the cheque is in the post?
Workout
Chest Pressing to Love Shack
Just makes it so less arduous.
BodyPump, with a little run there as I left home late.
Workout
And another...5K!
Was only going to do my usual 4 but stuck out another loop to make it 5. 38 minutes but glad to get the distance in. Halfway there!
Workout
Better run
Bit better this time round. Left hip still dodge but more comfortable than Tuesday. Huzzah :)
I sliced through my thumbnail with a kitchen knife...
...and then couldn't decide if I was going to pass out or throw up, but fortunately did neither. I don't recommend it.
My hip/upper thigh area is really quite painful today after yesterday's run. Sitting for long perioids aches, standing up aches, going up stairs is painful. Wah!
Workout
Bad run
First outdoors in a while - bad hips, bad breathing, bad stamina...bad bad bad.
10k is 7.5 weeks away. Not feeling good about it. I have however worked out that my route in and out to my normal loop is 3k, and the loop is 1k. If I can add one loop a week between now and then I'll hit 10k the week leading up to the run. Not feeling it at all!
Feat Accompli!
Workout
A very wobbly BodyPump
Think the weekend's excesses came back to haunt me. After the squat track my legs were vibrating, and not in a good way. By the time the lunge track started I thought I was going to fall over, legs were shaking like mad! I do feel like I've sweated out all the booze and fags from Saturday night though.

I lost the marathon challenge - Wedding prep starts here!
Any attempt at exercising went by the wayside with Wednesday's news, so my rival beat me to the 26.2 miles this morning. Finished off anyways with 6k after BodyPump today, so at least I can say I completed the challenge, if a little late!
Workout
1 mile in it!
7.7k on the treadmill (60 mins) - one mile between my friend and I on the marathon challenge!
Workout
Protein shakes - strangely good?
I know it was my second week back at Pump yesterday but having asked the boy to rustle me up a protein shake after class yesterday, I hardly ache at all today. Nothing compared to last week anyway! And it was so strawberrrerrerry goodness. Followed it up with Jam tonight which has loosened everything up again nicely.
Workout
Pump-diddly-ump and 5k
That's about it. Run one song, walk the next. 41:23. Felt like I could have spent all day in the gym today. Hips still a problem. D'oh!

I suspect the easiest part of planning this whole thing will be the fitness side.
I'm currently trying to work out how to tell my family it'll be a vegan wedding (OH is vegan - I am vegan at home, veggie all the other time and the only time I've eaten meat in 15 months was Christmas Day!). And then trying to find cheap, non-silk wedding dresses and non-silk, non-wool menswear!
Gah!

Have to be honest, there's not much to the first challenge other than eating less and moving more in a conscious effort to shift a few pounds.
The second one can start whenever you like. Since 1st March my friend and I have been doing a marathon challenge (to complete a marathon before the London Marathon at the end of April). Turns out we were both more competitive than we realised and will finish by Thursday! The winner gets a prize of around £10 value. So we're well up for another one, maybe starting next week, if you fancy a bit of a competition?

Starry - I'm 2 weeks into my 13lbs in 13 weeks challenge to myself (also a Feral Challenge drop out). That'll take me up to the end of May. 11lbs in 11 weeks? Join me! I have another idea too but I'll get back to you on that one! And remember that you are doing great and sometimes life does just have to get in the way of good intentions and that's no bad thing :)

Between that, and the no tins thing, I have absolutely no chance of completing this feat. Bugger.
Thanks for replying though :)

130lbs is amazing! I'm on a 13lbs in 13 weeks kick at the moment, taking me up to a 10k run at the end of May - eek!
edit to add: Just had a look through your photos - even more amazing! You must look back with so much pride at how far you've come. ps. where did you get this dress?!

I guess soya mince is out too then?
Where do we stand on chick peas? They either come in a tin or dried round here - both 'processed'!
This feat is stressing me out!

I'm struggling with this as a vegan too Urbie! Either need to find 12 raw food recipes (and I am not great with uncooked foods, to be honest) or admit defeat already. Hohum.

Cheers volcane - you are, of course, right on all counts. I suspect my overindulgence last night and 4am bedtime has somewhat skewed my judgement ;)

No cigarettes, no Coke, and finally getting my hands on a copy of Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer that I've been after for months and can't find. And reading it.

That is brilliant - well done too all, but especially to Llaves - you're dedication to the challenge was truly awesome and inspiring.

Wanna join me on the "13lbs in 13 weeks" challenge I'm about to invent? I have a 10k 13 weeks on Sunday, and I also have 13lbs to lose until I'm in the next stone bracket. I've been coasting along for months now and need to a) learn how to run 6 miles and b) get serious about looking after my bod.
If I don't make it, I won't stress, but like starry, the shift in how I feel inside and out will make it worthwhile.
Oh, plus whatever the next SW Challenge ends up being too!
