Hey, you know what works great in any electronic device? Batteries that aren't dead! I tried a different AAA in my waterproof mp3 player, and had a kick-ass 45 minute water workout on Saturday. I jogged and jogged up and down that pool. I know it sounds wimpy, but I really work up a sweat in there!

Today I actually made time in my schedule to go to the gym. Of course, it's still my same boring workout... aquajogging and swimming (~500 yds) for about 45 minutes, but hey... I'm working out.

Pretty simple today... aquajogging with a little swimming mixed in. I believe I have lost about 6 lbs in the last few weeks, so that's good. Sometime around the beginning of February, I'll do official weigh in and measurements. It'll be interesting to see how much progress I've made.

So nothing too exciting, but I swam for about an hour tonight, mostly did a ladder up to 10 (I know, it's pathetic considering I used to do that for a warm-up), some aqua jogging and some water toning exercises. Fun, followed by a short stint in the hot tub.

Ha ha! Too funny! And very much like the guy I made eyes at in the hot tub at the gym on ML King Day. Believe me, you're not the only one motivated by seeing someone there and potentially looking better so he'll talk to you. Personally, I'm taking motivation wherever I can get it!

Yeah, what a dork I am, right? It took me a whole week to figure out that the reason the music kept cutting off was that it didn't have enough POWER! lol. Good thing I work on the edge of technology...

Well, I finally finished one feat! I don't know that I was quite as militant as I maybe could have been. I didn't check to see if my whole wheat pitas contained sugar, for instance. I didn't spend a lot of time looking for hidden sweeteners. But I'm pretty much a sugar/sweets junkie (as in bordering on binge level), so for me 7 days without any of that stuff was challenge enough without checking my tomato cans. Maybe it doesn't count. But it was a radical enough change for me to think that it does. :)

OMG, PLEASE move to MN so I can move in with you! LOL. This sounds awesome! I *love* polenta, but I never really know what to do with it. I'll have to give this a shot.
I think I'm already making a trek to WA state this year, but I was just thinking yesterday, "I miss the ocean." Might have to chat your mom up about a visit to VA this year. :) Still, you and the hubby need to come out here. Seriously... think about it: KURDISH food! Can you get Kurdish food in the Tidewater area?!? I didn't think so! LOL.

Now my land mp3 is crapping out on me. Grrr.... I'm hoping it's just the crappy NWA headphones that I was using. I'll have to find the others. Music really does make a difference, and Britney (i.e., the crap they play in the gym) ain't no Guy Garvey! LOL.
I did talk to him, but only briefly, and did not get a name. This was after hard boiling my internal organs because I was in the hot tub so long waiting for "the moment" to arrive to chat. He seemed to be doing the same thing, but I could be wrong. I finally surrendered and got out of the hot tub. He followed immediately, and I struck up a very short conversation on the way to the locker rooms. It's really lame that this is my motivation, but sure enough, for the last two days, I've come home from work, cooked a good dinner, and have headed off to workout. I'm not proud, but I'll take it. :P

Definitely share some more stuff! The easier, the better for me. I'm just getting back to real food prep at home (you should see my kitchen... very tiny and no counter space... I'm not exaggerating!), and am looking for the really simple stuff. Simple, but tasty. :)

Ha ha! I did not make it to three days in a row... oh well. I did go yesterday (see the post... there was a big payoff!), and then had to work until 8 pm tonight, so it'll have to be tomorrow night when I go again. I should try to go to kickboxing tomorrow... we'll see. That's quite a workout, and I think it might kill me...
