Workout
I know I shouldn't be focused on this, and all, BUT
Okay, I have been working out diligently since last July, and I STILL have the SAME tiny mini-tire around my abdomen. It's nothing. I should ignore it. Weight is not the issue, here, just that I've been working out for a while, and shouldn't I have lost this weird little hula hoop of a thing around me?
Hmm.
Place:
YMCA - Prospect Park
Workout
first workout of the new challenge
...DONE.
And then I went home and had two smoothies. Which probably canceled out the entire workout, but oh well.

Workout at home, part II
...And then today I worked at home again, because it was a snow day and my son had a friend over and etc. etc. etc. I had no room in which to do much of anything, but did I let that stop me? Well, almost. Instead of giving up, though, I did push-ups and squats and side-planks in our narrow hallway, only pausing to let two shouting seven-year-olds get through.

Workout at home, part I
I was under the weight of too many deadlines to get to the gym yesterday, so I worked out at home. Unfortunately our place is tiny, and also unfortunately my husband was working a mere few feet away from me, but he was kind enough not to guffaw as I leapt and panted and wheezed.
Workout
Rule breakers
I have a teeny anxiety disorder, and by teeny I mean mammoth, and so I follow the rules precisely. What will happen if I don't follow the rules? I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. Something dire, no doubt. Humiliation, punishment, the end of the world.

YMCA - Prospect Park
Workout
Caveman sprints and tree-climbs!
Okay, actually, I just got on the elliptical for 30 minutes. But I DID eat a bison when I was done.

So not meeting the challenge goal
But I did work out today, and that's something, amen.

It's a little embarrassing to tell your trainer that you're sore from mopping. I tried to convince mine that I had something called "washerwoman's bicep." He was not impressed.

Mr. Mohawk, you are an inspiration. Maybe some day the Prozac will enable me to gently bend some rules, myself.
Meanwhile, I had to go back and edit the title because why did I hyphenate "rule breakers"? Why?

That means I made it to twenty! Which made my queasy workout today all the more worth it. Thanks, Oliver!

Hi, Urbansherpa! The book's called "Let's Panic About Babies," and it's a parody of pregnancy/parenting guides.

I'm hardly afraid of being checked out--I ASSUME that. I mean COME ON. But no, seriously, it's more about feeling out of my league or being laughed at (silently) because I am a spaz.
But yes, point taken.
Posted in response to: I went to the weight room. By myself. And no one laughed. (To my face.)

Am I honored? Like Steve McQueen was when he got to ball my wife. Am I able to stop writing like this? I'm not going to lie to you, it's getting harder all the time. But I'm going to stop. Damn right I am. Right after this.
