Turning compost and pulling weeds F. Another day out in the yard. I'm preparing the veggie patch for rocket and onions and spinach and beetroot and lettuce and turnips and pak choy and rockmelon and lemon cukes and snow peas.... Yum. Next week I get back into classes...slowly. :)
I'll now admit that yardwork can be a workout Th. Lazy morning. No walk/run. I had to get some yardwork done before the rains rolled back in. I wouldn't typically consider yardwork a "workout", but it was really my only activity between clients today...and I was sweaty and sore afterwards. Much like I'd feel after a workout. So, yeah, yardwork is like a workout.
HMSP Laces I am tying laces ready go,
Walking is quickly becoming my go-to workout. Sat - Got out and walked for a bit over an hour, and as usual, it was great!
Night Walking Fri - Went out after I finally got my project finished for my grad class, and squeezed in a walk despite a deep need to sleep. After getting out there, it was nice, but the clock and the pending Saurday alarm clock kept the duration down. But it was definitely good to get out there.
I LOVE to power walk! I once met a 98 year old shoe cobbler in North Carolina who didn't look a day over 60. When I asked him what his secret was, he told me he walks 2 miles to work, and 2 miles back from work, 7 days a week. At 98, he still worked full-time running his own business. He was definitely an inspiration at the time, and while I had always enjoyed walking in high school with my mom, I
34 more minutes on a Friday Night! While we have not been inclined to partake in the typical Friday night partying, drinking, dancing charades like most people our age, my husband and I have developed our own "good, fun times," and yes, you might have guessed it, it involves being active together! We knocked out 34 more minutes of walking together on Friday night! And as my husband would say, "Woot!"
Late-Night Walk My husband and I took a long power walk around our apartment complex! It was great! It gives us time to catch-up and talk about everything that happened in each of our days...we also have the tendency to strike-up philosophically-driven conversations (a natural occurance that's happened since college). All-in-all, we accomplished quite a bit!
Night walking Thursdays are usually a no-go, or sometimes only a slow-go, because I have class on Thursday nights after work. However, the Million Minute Month gave me the motivation I needed to get out there anyway.
Walking and more Went for walk tonight for half an hour. I'm really enjoying getting out in the night air and just going, no matter what other things seem to demand my attention. Hear this, Universe, my fitness comes first! The rest can wait until I'm done working out.
After Easter walk Keeping up with the daily activity, my wife and I went out for a walk Sunday night. We were just walking and talking about stuff, and before we knew it half an hour had gone by. We decided to go a little longer, and ended up walking for a full hour. It was great and it wasn't that hard to make the time.
Getting going again The confluence of events that was the end of the Feralicious and the beginning of multiple projects coming due had led to me skipping a couple of days of working out. Saturday night, I resolved to correct that situation and I went out for a half hour walk. It was a nice night, and it's still cooling off at night, though the humidity is there, foreshadowing the coming summer. I
Run - outside 5k before work. Woot!!!!
Running in a pouring rain 5K, in heavy rain...felt fantastic.
Run - outside 5k on a beautiful Sunday morning
Is my heart rate up or am I just cold? More walking. Did a half hour at lunch and then home from the office. Walking: 1:15 total. Speed: fast as possible with stopping for traffic lights Add in some pushups after I got home. Light workout, but trying to do something every day.
Workout #3 Went on an extended walk with Jordan to Whole Foods
HIIT in the Hills Running with the hubby in the hills is worth all the sweat in the world, but not vomit. My husband has been doing High Intensity Interval Training for months now and is much more fit than myself. He's been selling me this HIIT stuff with the pitch that it is an efficient use of energy and gets a lot done in short amount of time.
