Eat. Drink. Exercise. I can't remember what I did on Tu. Worked, I think. But didn't workout, I don't think.
SoWo 2.0 looks great but doesn't like my laptop. M. No morning workout, but once the sun peeked out and warmed things up I got out there before "lunchtime", for C25K's week two, workout one, done in 22:45.
Starting the week right! Although I got a lot of chores done this weekend, and fit in some good socializing and even me time, I didn't exercise so that by last night I felt blah. I got up at 6 this morning, made coffee, put on Wilco and went for a morning run. The weather was crisp and sunny and it felt really good! I got in 3 miles in 30 minutes.
long run, the 7th: fail. I had planned ahead for a run taking me around Berlin, passing some of the important sights and going through a number of neighborhoods. It should have taken 20 miles. It ended up being just under 11.
Sunday morning run. HOLY REST DAY! I took Saturday off. That's 2 days this month! YAY! Well I also had a tummy ache, but went to Brighton Beach anyways. Walked the boardwalk to Coney Island than came home still with tummy ache. So I was pretty much wiped out the rest of the night. I even paid for UFC 118 and fell asleep. Atleast I DVR'd it and BC got to watch it.
Running, yes. Boxing, no. Th. I couldn't be EFF'd to get out this morning (rain...lots of it...reckon this winter's been the wettest in some 12 years or so), but it cleared up a bit here and there in the afternoon, sooooo....
out there, finally. Ok, I did it. I knew I couldn't let another day pass without getting some serious endorphines going...so, I threw on my Vibrams, strapped on my Garmin and headed out the door, accepting the fact that I wouldn't know where I was heading.
Hot and humid Took Friday off but didn't end up doing much other than being a bump on a log. Finally got out for a run around 2 pm. Managed 3 miles in 30 minutes but it was hot!! Should have motivated myself to go in the morning.
Okay, I'm running again. Tu. Morning workout, about 20 minutes. Workout one, week one of the C25K running plan, bc...(drum roll)...I finally signed up for a 5K run. I have approximately 10 weeks to get my arse back into shape. Weather: Clear and cold but not too breezy. Music: The Presets "Apocalypso" Mood: Yeah, good.
Storm King Edition: in which I take my biannual hike Saturday, we did what good Brooklynites do--rented a zipcar and got the hell out of town. First we went to the Storm King Art Center, which is truly amazing if you haven't been. It involved a lot of walking, since the whole place is huge and there are so many installations spread out from each other. There was a tram but we left that for the old people.
"...Take each day as it comes..." Su. Morning workout, 60-minute walk around town. Clear, cold, with an icy breeze. I was rugged up head to toe. I couldn't believe I actually got out there, but I was really putting it hard on myself last night while I organised my clothes and shoes near the bed by the heater and set the alarm. "I'm getting out there in the morning, like it or not. No excuses.
danke sehr! Wonderful people of Social Workout: thank you! I did indeed just go for a run. It was not too long, but it was a solid 2 miles (with hills!) in a little over 18 minutes. Clearly, the mountain air does a little something for my pace! Of course, as I'm running, I'm obligated to greet everyone I come across with a 'grüetzi'...if I didn't it would just be rude.
Get going run I had plans on Saturday that started at noon...I realized that like my mom, I like to get my weekends started early otherwise I laze around. So I did some lazing, but then motivated to get out for a 30 minute run around the Pond before heading to the Boston Harbor Islands. My legs felt like they got a good workout coupled with the squats from earlier in the week!

running, walking Ran for 1/2 an hour through & around Ft. Tryon Park Walked for about 2 hours downtown while hanging out and tearing around with a friend, knocking around the East Village, Murray Hill and Chelsea.
long run, the 6th: emotions. At this point, each bi-weekly long run is the longest run of my life. It's terrifying but also motivating to know I can push myself further each time. This week's run was 18.5 miles long and took me just over 3 1/2 hours. Clearly, it was a slow pace (I ran with the Galloway group again), but I didn't even really feel tired or hurt until about mile 14.
in search of wild parrots 2.5 hours walking yesterday: 1 hour at lunch and 1.5 hours in search for wild parrots on the Hudson River Greenway with a friend of mine. She'd spotted the nest the day before and wanted to show somebody just to prove she wasn't seeing things. She said it was a big nest; she wasn't kidding. Practicing Togetherness in Bryant Park My yoga theme has been togetherness. Implanted first by urbansherpa in her class then Saturday morning at Lululemon's Salutation Nation in Bryant Park. It was fun though there were all kinds of nutty yoga instructors all up in my adjustments. I had to tell 3 different people not to adjust me. They was wildin out.
