Sexxy Saturday's at Gold's Back in the day (and by “the day” I mean the early ‘80s to the early ‘90s) in New York, strip joints were so ubiquitous that a certain type of heterosexual girl wouldn’t bat an eyelash swinging by Baby Doll in Tribeca to meet up with her guy friends.
Monday AM: TJ CPR PM: Strength train w/Jazzy
Monday workout or "Be careful what you wish for." Did strength training with Jeff. Asked why we didn't do the leg press. Said I liked the idea of laying down and exercising. Ha! So we did. Know that I am going to feel it tomorrow.
Jazzy Jeff Did my workout: lunges (my form was horrible before!), squats, rows, crunches on ball, chest press, did planks on bench but couldn't do them on the ball. I think it was a mental block. Jeff said should have been easier but I felt so unsteady and uncomfortable. Felt grumpy all day but went away after workout.
Gold's Gym training Worked out with Jeff. Did some work with an 8 lb ball and it was surprising how throwing it against the column got my heart racing. Did twists, chest throws, and throw squats. Also did step us. Did pikes, squats and rows. Great workout. Focused on keeping my chest straight when doing step ups and that helped to keep the weight off my knee.
Jazzy Jeff Worked out with my trainer, Jeff, tonite. My goal is to not complain during any of my workouts -- with him or my workouts at home. To not limit myself and to not have low expectations for myself. To not count myself out of the game before I even start. I was mostly successful during today's workout. I actually used 15# for shoulders, which I have never done.
Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp Tonight kicked ass and was the last indoor class.YAY! I can't wait to be on the bridge this Saturday!!!
Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp the gimpy version I went to my always favorite Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp class last night even though my foot is messed up because I don't get to go on Saturday. It was a great class but by the end my foot hurt so badly I limped home. Today my foot feels a little better which is good... I am glad I went last night, I needed the great workout to steel myself for the rest of the week.
A Hot Mess Oh yeah, this morning before Bootcamp, I felt like death and my knee hurt. After realizing that I would waste the class if I cancelled out - and I am far too cheap to waste a class- I hauled my ass out of bed to get it kicked. Totally worth it, by the end I felt better and my knee didn't hurt anymore.... nice how a good work out can make everything better.
I WENT to the yoga studio, but left before the class started because Ariane kicked my ass. In my house, Tuesday was referred to as Tough Tuesday because after last weeks success at going to both Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp AND Sadie's yoga class, I was planning on doubling up again.
Rockin workout Today's Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp class was AWESOME of course.
Ass Kicking Workout and a Kick Ass Wedding Ok, apparently the Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp is even harder indoors - who would have thunk? Maybe the view on the Bridge really does make things seem easier or I was just fitter this summer but my first class back since they moved indoors really kicked my ass.
[ex]spandau[ed] ballet still loving the ballet barre class and soooooooo sad it's my last one for awhile :( however, irini kindly stays late on fridays for anyone that wants to extend the class for jumps, turns, etc... yay! so i got in a full 90 min ballet class. merci & namaste irini!
a walk in the park & dancer in the dark nothing like a walk (45min) to and through the park during lunch. a little bit of sun, a little bit of snow :) and why oh why did i neglect to make it to more than two ballet classes in the last 16 years?! love, love, love ballet barre with irini at gold's! alas, i have other free trials to use before i actually sign up for my next gym. tonight's class
ripped & wired! intense! completed this 60min crazy plyometrics & sculpt class on sunday and i'm still sore nearly 3 days later...

(donkey-) kicked in the ass. Oh, Ariane...you've done it once again. You know, when I start looking forward to the jump squats, that the rest of the workout must be pretty "effective" (is that a good euphemism, or what?!). So, apparently my dear friend boot-camp-lady Ariane went to Germany to surprise her mom for her 70th bday. Adorable!
friday the 13th - barre none workout 13 - my favorite number / favorite day combination celebrated with a ballet class!! :) i think i've only taken one ballet class since 1994 and tonight felt great! i'm using my free week pass to Gold's and really looking forward to more classes... also started the morning with a run/walk interval 15min.
new yorkers do that, right? walk? I started my morning with Ariane's bootcamp. It was great! We repeated the measurements we'd done the other day and they were even better, since we were doing them in the morning...which was consistent with the other measurements. I'll give details on this whenever I get the numbers from Ariane.
