push it good what were weekends made for but increasing your pushup count?
sweetness in the bad boy dept & confirmation that I'm terrible at accent I.D. A shift in wknd plans got me back to the gym Sat AM for more chinups, dips &etc. Ran into one of my favorite instructors, Carl M., on the weight floor & he reconfirmed what a sweet guy he is, even though his classes are like death. He mentioned he's from London & here I had mistaken him for an Aussie.
Is being caveperson-like really supposed to be this complicated? So are we supposed to write double posts to account for our gifted double workouts? I'm getting so many logistical deets so WRONG on this challenge.
oops did I get that wrong Duh, I thought the pull-up feat meant if you did one as a baseline, you needed to be able to 20 by the challenge end. No wonder I was feeling so despondent about this one. An irony is since I've not found a chinup bar elsewhere, I'm having to go to gym MORE not less. So much for feral out-of-doors. Today sweet yoga wings was full again.
do or DIY The Office Cure is under way. @ the start of the month, I had over 3100 messages in my in-n-out boxes. Am currently at 230, about 7% of what it was a few weeks ago. Have all but closed my Yaboo account. Migrated everything worth keeping to a new Gmail account. I say Yaboo bc my account was hacked in the process. Sorry, everybody, I'm not trying to sell you Viagra.
love the flow Back to the one Vinyasa Heat class at SF Crunch that I can truly say I love. Very rhythm and ritual w/ a steadfast, calming undercurrent of count-of-five breathing, setting the perfect foundation for gentle while direct instruction of an empowering variety of vinyasas (reminds me of Kristen Leigh of the Shala). Like coming home.
Psyched but tired Good morning, Daylight Savings Time. Not easy at first, but soooo worth it. Cardiolicous 28 min bicycling -10 lights, coasting = 18 / 205 min total 3 min sprints (Valencia, Market, Howard, McCoppin Sts) = 20.5 total
winged levitation Ahhhh, back to Anti-Gravita Yoga. Was it just me or did this class get harder (it has been months since I've taken it)? The situps we had to do from entirely vertically hanging upside down w/ straight legs were the oh-jesus moment for me, made the flips seem like spit in the ocean.
a day of unexpecteds Finished off the last three feats tonight & a final workout. Workout did not go as expected. @ lunch was psyched to get back to anti-gravity yoga wings & schlepped dwntwn through rain to make it, but then the class was full. Sad.

pressing on w/ hot yoga The third and final "Vinyasa Heat" offered by Crunch SF is a winner. Phew. Hot class, hot teacher. This week is a tough and sad one for me, holding onto memories, tenth anniversary of my dad's stroke that eventually killed him. I'll probably be taking more yoga.
sweet yoga sweat After days of mirrorless yoga studio yoga, I was shocked to see myself in the mirror in hot yoga today - AKKKK I needed so many adjustments. Made it through, a no-nonsense-but-coulda-been-hotter vinyasa roundup, & being at Crunch, I loved & luxuriated in the towel & shower after party.
hooping it up in aisle 7 It took 2 sporting goods stores. Walked all 5 floors of Sports "Basement," Zilcho results. Phoned first to Sports Authority. Only one floor at the Authority, but many hula hoops.
squat, squatter, squattest All the above at Rock Bottom today. Then overhead pressed more than ever in Top It Off. Tried the incline chest press machine before class. 90#. How do you work on bench pressing? Can I do this on a machine? Machines freak me out. They look so much like torture chambers, and that's without seeing David Barton's new gym. Made too much vegie couscous for dinner.
Rock It Off Uh boy, what about these class names. "Rock Bottom" + "Top It Off." The beautiful Brazilian instructor, Fernando, can get away with just about anything. Am definitely feeling it today. Up to about 45 seconds juggling 2 beanies. Don't know how I'm going to get to 3 for 60.
cough drops Taking it easy as sore throat is going in the wrong direction. Stole into Pilates Express at lunch. Am tiptoeing around the subject of exercising while under the weather (i.e., sick). Wasn't there something reported recently about it being ok to exercise while unwell? If you choose to be out and about, you obviously want to keep your germs to yourself, one reason to go slow, but how slow?
