What is the best way to work on strengthening chin-up muscles w/o being near a chin-up bar/scaffolding/machine? Shoulders still hurt so good, but I can only do half an unassisted chin-up, in sets of three. The reverse chinup practice is also killing me, but I'm almost getting good at maneuvering around the big boy dept. to find the requisite stool to practice said reverse chin-ups from the honest-to-god chin-up bar.

attack of the killer abs @ a couple of half pint classes this evening I swear I've never heard so much groaning from prostrate bodies, both male & female. Afterwards I wrapped myself around the assisted pullup/dip machine but couldn't get close to what I pulled up the other day. Hail pelted down almost the entire time I biked dntwn (my favorite part: a bunch of biker dudes stepping outside in SoMa (presumably from a biker bar) and yelling, "HAIL! HAIL! HAIL!). I was most provoked by the moderator's statement that the Farm Bill could be rejiggered to be more sustainable in an appealing way for all. I found this shocking, honestly.

pushing Going to have to push to get to the 1000s. Today 5x20 + 25 in class for 300 pushups, 170 situps. Am not counting class crunches since I assume these need to be the "military" style situp?? We do some of those in class, kind of, but I can only keep so many numbers in my head at a time! Have to wake up tomorrow at 6:30am. My least favorite almost over!
a quivering heap Dev nailed it today when in his intro he specified,"you should fatigue quickly. You shouldn't be able to make it through 20 reps." And then he gives us 20+ reps of everything. No wonder I'm always reduced to a quivering heap in his class.

go, quad, go! Per the norm I was left in a crumpled heap in Devin's class, just as he was making the rounds telling us what an excellent job we had all done. But at the end I did get in my QUAD! stretches as reward to this constantly called-upon muscle group. PERSONAL CHEF 2/10
mixed feelings and pure energy Today back to badass Devin, whose class I dread even as I dash across town to make it in. I was sad to hear he was injured, apparently not bad, but we had a substitute who didn't dish it out like Dev does. Read: I could do all the pushups without any serious swear words underneath my breath.
9.9.9 Gotta enjoy these numbers when they happen! Date aside, back to normal w/ a couple of pony size classes under the Bay Bridge. It was weird not having the hankering that I needed to work on some random feat.
judgments I've been having a tough time making it to one of my favorite classes which is sadly timed on Friday evenings at 6 located a good distance from the rest of my life. So when I saw the same instructor was teaching a 30 min Ultimate Conditioning followed by a 30 min Absolution on Wed evening, I hightailed it on over.
