Everyone needs a gym upstairs from their office. After last weeks run this weeks focus is to not do distance running at all to let my legs rest for the tournament. In fact if I do any running it will be in a sprint format. Quick stops and starts for the tournament. Today I did a basic circuit.
Week long workout post. Monday - Hunting the 5 mile Central park loop. I missed hunting. Light resistance training. Tuesday - Light jog. The 4 mile Central Park loop. I actually went in the opposite direction as the day before so I wouldn't be tempted to hunt.
I Feel Like A Slug It has been one week since my last workout. ONE. WHOLE. WEEK. This workout post is for the 45 min spin class I did last week. That class was a little strange because the teacher had us imagining that we were biking in South Africa at Table Mountain and all the music was soothing African drumming music. Not exactly the heart pumping, sweat dripping workout I wanted.
Yoga with Ellen Spivak Nice noon class. I rarely get to take Ellen's classes but it was Memorial Day.
hot yoga with Mary Dana Abbot Excellent as usual. The heat seems to release endorphins. For once I wasn't the only male to take my shirt off. Is the a European vs. American thing?
Machines Weights etc. My usual assortment
Rowing Machine 5 minutes
heartbreak hill aint got nothin' on me. Yesterday, after work, for whatever reason I was raring to go. Maybe it was the afternoon coffee. Maybe it was pent up frustration from dealing with shockingly incompetent college students. Or, maybe it was that my body was wonderfully oxygenated from being in the “country” (aka Princeton, NJ) this weekend. Nevertheless, I skipped my usual Crunch Union Square workout and headed up to 83rd Street.
meh. but then i saw robin hood! 20 minutes walking commute 60 minutes walk at lunch 20 minutes walk to the gym 30 minutes bosu bootcamp 15 minutes biking 15 minutes treadmill 15 minutes to get home
creative juices are flowing. I'm not sure why, maybe it was the kettlebells and TRX today, or the walking, or just the time I took to sit still and read and think, but something's stirring. Thoughts are racing and overcoming me with such intensity that I need to go...do something. Like, write. But, not this. Suffice it to say, I accumulated: , 45 minutes walking and running, 45 minutes circuit training, 5 stretching.
free runner 40 min and 30 pushups
