How This Thing Works!
The Million Minute Month is perhaps the simplest Social Workout challenge to date. Once you join the challenge, you will get your own personal exercise counter page so you can begin tracking the time you spend on any given activity. (This page will magically appear on April 15th, the day the challenge starts.) Thus, you will be able to watch how much you use your body, and in what ways. Meanwhile, your minutes will get added, tributary-like, to the giant river of minutes pouring into our Million Minute Month Clock. Every minute counts, and we hope you'll set your own minute goal for the challenge, and use it to push yourself towards greatness. One place to start: 1,200 minutes translates into working out for one hour on 20 days. Very do-able! To keep things interesting, we will track of who contributes the most minutes for each activity, and overall. So, while this is not a competition, there are bragging rights to win, not to mention prizes for our leaders.
The Spirit Guides
To inspire our journey to One Million, we have recruited a number of mind-expanding, life-transforming, very healthy people. These are people who know what it means to set and achieve goals. They are legends in their own fields, and they've agreed to to push us along when we get tired, and to celebrate us when we're flying. Feel free to click through on their names to find out more about them. Over the course of the challenge, they'll be guest blogging, and, of course, logging their own minutes.
Blogging
At the heart of every Social Workout challenge is our community. The daily back and forth of workout blog posts, the cries for help, and the celebration of early morning initiative. While there is no workout posting requirement in this challenge, every challenger gets his or her own blog as part of the Social Workout deal, and we encourage everyone to post their experiences, even as as they log their minutes. Your minutes count will hardly tell the full story, and the community is here to yell and scream and hug you (virtually) as the challenge progresses. All of your posts will show up on your own personal profile page, and on our communal TALK page.
