Don't be a Hater
Walkie Talkie

- Power Walking (VIa Briantologist.)
Further evidence that I am becoming my mother: My newfound love of power walking. Before you mock, let me count the virtues....
- It's free.
- When I can't quite motivate to run, I can almost always motivate to walk, and my heart still pumps and the sweat still pours.
- I've been walking hills lately, and my butt totally looks better (not to brag, just sayin').
- Now that the weather is warmer, and I can convince folks to come with me, walking equals a fabulous, free, healthy, and totally happy way to catch up with my favorite peeps. So much better than pricey drinks!
Last week I heard all about my friend W.'s new book. Today I actually called my mom while I walked, and she told me all about her new walking buddy. It was a little mind-bending.

What is actual "power walking", do you just walk fast and swing your arms more? (really interested, cause I tried the whole running thing and it's just not for me)

I don't think you technically have to swing your arms more for it to count, but that usually ends up happening. :) For the official def, Wikipedia to the rescue: "Power walking is walking at a speed at the upper end of the natural range for the walking gait, typically 7 km/h to 9 km/h (4.5 to 5.5 mph)"

Glad I'm not the only one who feels like she is becoming her mother when she power walks. AND I'm glad I'm not the only one who, though she feels like her mother, still finds value in it, and actually enjoys it.
