I hate that I can't comment from an iphone The title has nothing to do with my workout, but I just wanted to get that out. There was so much I wanted to comment on today, but whenever I click the box from my iphone, the keyboard won't come up and I can't type :(
I think I can, I think I can "The little engine that could"-that was my mom's favorite book when I was a kid. She read it to me every night. I wish I had that mentality always. I thought of that book after Tread and Shed class.
The day I became Exhibit A Friday I took TRX. Marc was teaching. He knows what I'm capable of. Class was almost over and he decided to do one more thing. Obliques. One foot in both straps and lift into a side plank. I can't do those. Usually I just watch. After that Marc said the last thing was lifting the foot on the floor to tap the foot in the TRX.
I hope it wasn't my fault... Marc was back today for TRX, instead of Tomas. It was a great class, but what if Tomas isn't teaching it anymore because I spoke to Marc about last week. Last Friday wasn't a bad class it's just I felt it was too intense especially because he didn't include any recovery breaks. Tomas was at the gym. I saw Marc talking to him before the class started.
thanks, buddy. I was gonna bail on the gym last night. Earlier in the day I'd been wanting to try my luck at an outdoor run, but in the end the heat was just too much and even the gym seemed like a unappealing alternative.
Sorry guys Especially the new people in TRX today. Marc made it super hard. He even warned before class started that it would be tough today. For the first 15 minutes we looped the handles into one which basically means you're pulling all your body weight with just one arm instead of balancing it out with both.
No torture today I came to TRX prepared for it, but Marc didn't show up. Brooke was there instead and the class was fairly simple. Buff Yoga was next, and that was hard because of all the soreness from yesterday's PT session. Running tonight (i think it's the last class).
The elliptical hogger Really?? A girl was sitting on the back of the last available elliptical talking on the phone. Like she was saving it, but wasn't ready to use it. She was talking really loud except I couldn't focus on what she was saying because I was trying to understand the situation. Workout:
Subs The next time Marc is out on Friday I will not take TRX (I just wish there was a way of knowing that before making the trip to Union Square). Emma was subbing for him today. She is definitely not as hard as Marc which would be a nice break, but she lacks enthusiasm so the class just seems like work whereas with Marc it's more fun. I did not like it, but couldn't leave.
silly rabbit TRX is for me. I got to the gym without much of a plan -- which, unfortunately, seems to be a sad trend lately. Typically. I might do a run and maybe a weight circuit and call it a day, since there are really no classes that I like (or manage to get into) on Mondays. Well, today, the stars aligned and I made it to Crunch and there was one last spot open in the TRX class!
TGIF I'm in TRX, my thighs are sore, we're doing the plank with feet hanging in the trx and opening and closing the legs. I'm lazy, but Marc's standing over me saying "cmon fraidy! you're strong enough to do this. I know you work out all the time!" gee thanx. I made it through the class, but I'm so glad shabbat is here because I need a big break :)
because i don't feel like elaborating today while waiting for TRX to start: 25 minutes bike 12 minutes elliptical 10 minutes abs, squats, pushups TRX: 45 minutes walked for 47 minutes afterwards
A day of TLC was great for my foot As boring as sitting home all day doing nothing except caring for my foot was, when I walked out of the house this morning the pain was nowhere near as bad as yesterday morning. I went to Crunch Union Square to take TRX. The thing is, in order to get a spot you need to come an hour before to sign up. In that hour I did elliptical.
MMM is not going as planned I thought I would bike to Union Sq today but when I woke up I wasn't in the mood. Took the subway. Did some running and TRX.
nothing exciting I had no plans for today, aside from Buff Yoga at 5 pm. So I sat at home and did photoshop tutorials (in cs2 which is now completely outdated with the release of cs5 today). When I couldn't sit anymore I virtual boxed on wii fit. By the time I went to the gym I was exhausted from sitting all day. I got to Crunch, signed up for Buff Yoga.
Loving the weather Woke up early today and it was gorgeous. So I biked 15 miles. To Union Sq and back. I got to Crunch just in time for one of the last spots for TRX. My body is hurting.
i'm all out of titles I rushed this morning and made it in time for the last spot of TRX. In the hour before class started I did some running and practiced pull ups. After class I wanted to attempt a REAL pull up. I brought a bench to the bar so I can jump up. I have no problem grabbing and hanging there for a couple of seconds, but once I lower myself down it is impossible to bring myself back up.
Pull ups do not get easier My dips are going fine. Today I managed to move down to only 20lbs assistance. But my pull ups aren't going anywhere. I've been stuck on 40lbs for almost 2 weeks. Yesterday for fun I tried doing one on 30lbs and it took all the strength I had to get up there.
A TRX spot! After weeks of coming too late I discovered the trick to getting a spot is coming when they put out the sign up sheet. An hour before the class. I got to the gym at 10:30 and got one of the last spots! I am so glad I did. My body is feeling so sore right now. My chest was already sore this morning from all the pull up practice I've been doing this week but now every inch of my body is sore.
