putting the super into super sculpt Back at it w/ devastating Dev. weather the storm, squirming chinup Blue skies mingled w/ all kinds of cloud-spitting all day. Hail pelted down almost the entire time I biked dntwn (my favorite part: a bunch of biker dudes stepping outside in SoMa (presumably from a biker bar) and yelling, "HAIL! HAIL! HAIL!). It was one of those days I was really glad to be wearing a helmet (w/ visor).
in with a meow I'm hoping the old March saying works in reverse for us feral wannabees. Yes, I did some yoga last week, and I did pull off the pushups in the second-to-last challenge. But Wild Thing?
a quivering heap Dev nailed it today when in his intro he specified,"you should fatigue quickly. You shouldn't be able to make it through 20 reps." And then he gives us 20+ reps of everything. No wonder I'm always reduced to a quivering heap in his class.

a mistake? The minute I started warming up for today's workout I knew it was a mistake. Still fatigued from weekend bicycling, I don't think I made it through a set of anything. But I've become so dependent on this class, this love-hate relationship, this Mr. Good Guy/Mr. Bad Guy rolled into one instructor, that I couldn't bring myself to not show up. PERSONAL CHEF 6/10
go, quad, go! Per the norm I was left in a crumpled heap in Devin's class, just as he was making the rounds telling us what an excellent job we had all done. But at the end I did get in my QUAD! stretches as reward to this constantly called-upon muscle group. PERSONAL CHEF 2/10
group therapy This slogan on the classroom wall was somehow comforting today. Had not noticed it before. Devin's class is markedly easier since it's been cut down to 45 minutes from 60. It's still hard enough, especially after taking it easy yesterday. Post-photo realized I should probably not be taking photos in the gym.
mixed feelings and pure energy Today back to badass Devin, whose class I dread even as I dash across town to make it in. I was sad to hear he was injured, apparently not bad, but we had a substitute who didn't dish it out like Dev does. Read: I could do all the pushups without any serious swear words underneath my breath.
back in the mix SuperSculpt Devin. Hurts so good. Later the same night: meditation. I'm only progressing so far because I'm neglecting the twice daily 15-min self-led practice. I was hoping I could conflate it with juggling practice. Juggling as meditation. But I don't seem to be getting better at either.
Bootcamp Workout If you truly want to work your muscles, this is the class for you! Tons of push-ups, crunches, squats, lunges, you name it! Your muscles will earn muscles :)
follow throughs • Super Sculpt Monday - Followup to the explosive deep knee squats that nearly did me in two weeks ago (in not a bad way but not necessarily a good way, either), I asked instructor Devin about squats. As a general rule for safety he doesn't have classes bend knees beyond 90°, but for individuals he will tailor depending on ability and goals.
